This guest ignores the low price of silver. Take total world silver, and multiply that by $30/oz. A mere $130 billion US dollars will buy ALL above ground silver in existence! That is a pittance of the US or any country's annual budget. As sound money because necessity, silver price will move to 10:1 ratio with gold. Rational price target is $300 / oz.

It's about an ounce a panel, like 30 bucks profit or whatever per panel to rip the whole thing apart and probably chemical remove the silver and then have to get that back to a usable form. That is not attractive at all right now. I suppose at a much higher price point, like 80+ a panel, it might start to look attractive to do in bulk. In bulk, you can probably get a little bit of cash for selling the smashed glass and the aluminum frames for recycling too. There's definitely a price point where it becomes viable and profitable to recycle those panels.

The comments section is definitely exposing all the people who are stacking silver for the wrong reasons. Stacking silver will not make you rich. What stacking silver will do is preserve your wealth and preserve the current buying power of your money for the future. For example, a $100 fiat note in the 1980's could buy you a month worth of groceries or buy you 20oz of silver. That same 1980 $100 note today, 2024, won't even buy you a weeks worth of groceries, but your 20oz of silver from 1980 when exchanged for cash, will still buy you a months worth of groceries. Silver is for wealth preservation, other assets such as property, stocks, art works, etc. with a speculative value are for wealth creation. You will never lose the value of your money by buying silver, but buying assests with speculative value could result in major losses. It's the old low risk - low reward, high risk - high reward scenario. Silver is a low risk investment.

Hmmm, he quickly reached down to grab his "coffee" and take a sip. Re-watch from 41:20 on. What flabbergasts me is that he says (paraphrased) "There were about a third of the decision makers in power who were short silver, the other two thirds were somewhat oblivious...and the 1/3 coerced the 2/3 into making it so that silver contract positions could only be sold, not bought." The fact that these entities had it in their company rules that they can make such rules defies "free markets' where "you cannot buy this, you can only sell it". Jeffrey then goes on to make an interesting comment about manipulation and then adds "It was definitely not a conspiracy." Maybe we need to define terms, if a group of men who are short silver are hugely underwater and work to change the rules on silver contracts so that they don't go bankrupt and convince the others to go along...they are definitely "conspiring together" (hence, a conspiracy) to control the outcome. Quote from Investopedia on Silver Rule 7 (the rule change issued that stopped the Hunt Brothers):: "Federal commodities regulators introduced special rules to prevent any more long position contracts from being written or sold for silver futures. This move stopped the Hunts from increasing their positions BY TEMPORARILY SUSPENDING THE FUNDAMENTAL RULES OF THE COMMODITIES MARKET. [emphasis mine, not Investopedia's]. With longs frozen and shorts free to pile in, the price of silver began to slide..." And the rest, as they say, is history...

What this guy says may be factual, but that doesn't make it accurate or correct. Its like saying the sky is black.. well yes, but only at night. it's also blue. Factual, but not accurate. Never mentions the amount of paper silver compared to physical on hand. Bank managers may not be smart enough, but that is by design, those that control the bank managers are smart enough. Doesn't consider the cost of actually refining the above ground silver reserves like sterling. The cost of business absolutely effects the willingness to continue mining. Actually his take that there is so much silver above ground only lends to the likelihood that it would better to not mine but use already mined reserves, etc. Good interview, but I don't think it paints a clear picture of what is actually happening.

No one sells at 30 USD it is too little and certainly no one will melt their artwork or be it collectable coin at 33 USD/oz and those few who will does not matter. What has to be considered is the cost to recover and recycle the silver. There are hard costs to recover, and the higher the price goes, the more recovery will be encouraged. However, this doesn't mean the price will not go up or down because there is recoverable metal.

I think the argument is that there is a relatively fixed demand of silver per year. Silver is replenished at x rate by current mining new silver entering the market when the demand exceeds that natural supply liquidation of non-active silver, reserve silver as referenced by this guy and reclamation silver from refinement. Once that process begins the delta between demand and yearly or daily production is satisfied leading to a decrease in spot price as there is no longer a deficiency in available quantity. I think what this guy is mainly communicating that even the things referenced by the silver community are meaningless in relation to the accessible silver whether it be stock pile silver or reclaimed silver. A thing that would interest me from this guy would be how much demand would be required to exhaust retained silver stores to then necessitate only reclamation.

JC would say that you left a critical component out of your final question..."...at what price". JC contends that there is a massive amount of silver held by various people (including stackers). They all have their personal price points. If silver goes to $32.50 a lot of folks will sell (just like they did last month). If demand increases, and price increases, profits increase and enough people will sell to meet the demand. Reclamation might never be needed.

Mine discovery has been trending down since forever and quality of silver of discovered mines has been trending down since forever. This is despite our fancy new surveying technology. Less mines being found, silver gets more expensive to mine and refine as quality of ore gets lower, cost of energy to mine and refine continues to rise with inflation, industry year on year physical silver consumption increases, etc etc etc It's the perfect storm with fiat currencies having ran their life cycle more or less.

Regardless of the amount of real or estimated above ground silver if the price isn't right there is no assurance that it will come to market... Investors have price targets, they are not all wind up automatons who will dump their holdings on demand at fire sale prices.

If the demand for silver is 1.2 billion ounces why are the miners only producing 850 million ounces?

TWO possibilities: 1. It is all they can produce due to fewer, deeper veins; higher mining costs; ESG regulations; etc. 2. Why produce more and satisfy demand...when drilling 'only' 850,000,00 oz./year will result in a deficit and yield higher prices as time goes on (compare OPEC's carefully designed, strategic oil output). But the miners are not as organized as OPEC.

Many mines are experiencing drops in the quality of the silver deposits. At a low price, certain silver can't economically mined. As price goes up, miners may be able to "make" money on the lower quality deposits. If they mine the lower quality deposits, less silver will be produced.
