Thank you so much! Now I know how I can make my beautiful girlfriend a custom ring. I never knew about metal clay. It looks like a fun way to make gifts and merchandise to sell.

Where can you get metal clay?.....

I've been trying to figure out how to make resin duplicates for my ( real) diamond ring. It's too much to replace it with the real thing. Thanks to you I think I figured it out. They are lovely rings but as they are on your hands, how durable are they....(waterproof, "fade" proof, strong)? At any rate, you are a great artist and I love watching your tutorials! 😊👍💜💙

This isn’t polymer clay she’s using. It is a precious metal clay, made of real silver mixed with cellulose. So in it’s clay form, she creates the ring, as you see her doing in the video. After drying, she fires it. During that process, the cellulose burns off, the silver melts just enough for all of the silver particles to bond together and voila! You have a silver ring! A genuine silver ring! It should last a lifetime, or a few lifetimes. She has to use cubic zirconia rather than natural gem stones because they can be fired without damaging the stone. One thing to remember about using precious metal clay is that it shrinks, about 10% during the firing. Good luck! I’m getting my nerve up about plying with a torch, but watching these videos helps.

@@pattimessenger6214 thank you so much! So much talent on here! The torch does seem a little ominous!😊
