I just wanted to thank you sir for this channel. I'm an old subscriber (in the 8k range) and your enthusiasm and attitude towards this hobby had me hooked early. Today I did my very first hunt. My finds were 5 Lincoln cents (3 in a spill) a Roosevelt dime, 2 vintage pull tabs, 2 aluminum coke bottle caps, one Shipyard beer cap, three nails, one snippet of aluminum siding, and one 9mm bullet. And I couldn't be happier. Thank you for all your wonderful content and the inspiration for many dirty afternoons to come. say hi to the rest of the fellows on my behalf, and beep on!

I did my first full few hours metal detecting in Perth, Australia on the weekend. It was great to get out with a friend for a few hours. We tried a local place and found a couple of coins, nothing exciting but already looking forward to the next hunt.

The copper arrow piece w holes, i believe is part of a book clasp. Could also be a clasp for a leather folder for important papers( documents) or even a leather suitcase ect..

I think that funny button with the star shaped opening would have had a shank on the plain side which has broken off, and then inside there would have been a plastic or glass blob attached and visible through the opening (like a flower bud opening up). I have a few similar buttons, maybe from around the 40s or 50s?

I Think a lot of your finds have to do with the Steel Magnate up along The Scottish Channel. Saw his Portraiture with ribbon on his neck. Most Likely to be the one where all RSJ and Things originate.
