This video shows the output of a NHK IV PLUS biled projector conversion in a 2019 Silverado HD. Running biled projectors results in twice the high beams (this truck also activates the fogs when the HB is turned on).

I got a retrofit done in my old school 4x6 lights back in '11 with a entry level kit and my vision had to adjust then. I can only imagine what these would do...goodness. I didn't even have any shrouds installed because they were hard to fit. But doing that helped a lot of residual lighting hit the housing reflector and be thrown back out onto the roads and sides. These are extreme! I've been thinking of giving my windshield a 50%- 80% tint and these LEDs will sure compensate that for night driving.

My first retro was a Chevy S10 and it was complicated lol I had to fabricate buckets for the back of it bc everything was hanging out. I've had tinted windshields before and these would definitely help but the troopers around here keep me from dark windshields anymore lol

Very nice Bi-LEDs. I've been contemplating on switching out from my current D2S HID Projectors for LEDs. The pros of these LEDs is they don't require a ballast and harness (I think). The cons to these is when the LED lighting have issue, there is no bulb replacing, you'll have to split open the headlights and remove the entire projector to put a new one.
@derrickcassel2 жыл бұрын
LED projectors draw less power and are getting to the point where they’re brighter than HID. Wiring is simple due to the lack of ballasts too. You are correct, if the LED fails they will have to be redone but quality LED chips should last for years and years so I feel the pros outweigh the cons . I don’t run HIDs anymore if I can use LED projectors
@amjathkhan20042 жыл бұрын
But in a HID setup, most likely your bulbs will fail which is an easy fix while projector, ballast and harness lasts long. Even the bulbs may last longer than a couple of years. The Bi LED on the other hand may fail too and when it fails you have to replace the entire thing which is going to be a tedious task and expensive too.
@derrickcassel2 жыл бұрын
Not expensive. This set of projectors can be bought for around $200 and would take a couple hours to swap out if they did fail. A quality set of HID bulbs are going to cost over $100 so it's all relative. The output is worth the risk of having to replace for me since they should last a long time.

I'm planning on doing a projector install to a custom truck build I've got going on. It will be lifted on 37's, fairly high up there. I am partially considering actually retrofitting the bi-led projectors into some custom made fog light housings down low in the bumper to try and get the light output more towards the ground. Then maybe some 1157/running light style led bulbs in the headlights for a dummy appearance. Really not sure on that. Do you think projectors would be better suited Lower in the bumper on a lifted truck?
@derrickcassel Жыл бұрын
Depending on how high your talking it would definitely be better for everybody else on the road to have the lights lower down. You could always put some dummy projectors in the headlight housing and give them a demon eye kind of look
