My 03 1500hd 6.0 is idling at 900 when warmed up in all gears. Doesnt matter in park/drive whatever. New throttle body and position sensor. Anybody got any ideas?
@SteveRobReviews4 ай бұрын
@DusterNutbar Most likely a vaccum leak somewhere. New throttle body may need to be recalibrated if no vaccum leaks . I'd start looking for vaccum leaks , look at fuel trims for clues and O2 sensor readings as well. No codes mentioned so there is a start.
@DusterNutbar3 ай бұрын
@@SteveRobReviews No vacuum leaks, not throwing any codes. New 02 sensors, didnt change it any. Im starting to think previous owner put a tune on it.
@SteveRobReviews3 ай бұрын
@DusterNutbar A tune would never demand a 900 rpm idle. You could try disconnecting the battery , let it sit for 20 minutes and then connect the battery and let the ecm start from scratch and relearn and see if it corrects anything . Might be worth a try , turn everything off , no ac , turn everything off .
@SteveRobReviews3 ай бұрын
A scan tool will display desired rpm and actual rpm so if the desired is about 300 less the truck can't correct .

How's she goin'? That sensor sure looks like it could be the culprit. Lots of carbon on it and after 300K I guess it doesn't owe you anything eh!!! I find with cars these days, it's one thing to be able to access the vehicle and get the fault code, but then you have to interpret what the fault code is trying to tell you. I think you made a good call here though. I hope it works out for you!!! Take care!!
