Agreed with everyone about bolting vs welding. I will say after watching the build series, these are some of the best welds I've seen him lay down.

Well with that model Silverado the upper part of the stock bumper is acting as a valence it's mostly plastic, because of the step down from the headlights to the grill. In regards to the weight you really don't want a light prerunner so the shocks can work. One of our older projects is a Ranger and it was too light when we added the bypass shocks. Still glad to hear the video helped you and yes more to come.

Sir, you made it look so easy! I thought that overall, in front, the finished product would have shown much taller in its height. However, a great job, and video too.

Damn nice bumper! Props for the upside down welding too. I would have bolted the bumper to the cross member and added a bar above the lights between the diagonal bars for more strength. Great looking build!

This build is going well. Like everything up to this point. Not at fan of the sheet metal supports or the valances on the bumper. I am more of a simple single tube across and bars for the skidplate kind of guy though. Keep up the great work.

Ya I used to think the same thing coming from drag racing, but without enough weight it is hard for the shock to do its job. For power we have an Airaid intake, an exaust and a Superchips Flashpaq, not V8 power but definitely woke up our 4.0.

Were did you buy the abs plastic, tab and fasteners?
@dirtlifemagazine
@dirtlifemagazine 11 жыл бұрын
Just search for a plastics company in your area. We told them we needed it 5 inches tall and it came 8 feet wide. Was only around $30. You might also ask them what texture it comes in. Ours came textured on one side and smooth on the other. Use the textured side out otherwise it will get scratched up.

Very nice looking job, nice welding skills, I wouldn't weld it to the chassis and cross member, what if you need to service it or replace it and the wiring is kind of weird, what about to run the wiring inside te tubes keeping them out of the view, everything was looking great until you put the valance, it makes the job looks low budget "cheap" and don't think it will do too much difference in aerodynamics. Good job, keep it up!!!!
