in regards to cutting holes in the bed, do the instructions cover the locations of cuts? mine should be shipping out at the end of this month and i think thats what has me the most worried lol
@CaswellCustoms Жыл бұрын
Yes they do cover where to cut, but I ended up cutting more than they showed.

@@CaswellCustoms W for the quick response haha. Thanks! No modifying of the brake lines? No limit straps?
@CaswellCustoms Жыл бұрын
@rrimportracer I don’t remember having to modify the brake lines at all, and I don’t have limit straps at this time but I will be adding them.

This video is 3 years old! How you liking the cage and shock set? I’m looking to upgrade the rear and I’m in between a camburg cage and dirt king. Only difference I see is slightly more bed room with a camburg.

I love the dirt king setup, it’s worked great and with the mid shackle and hanger kit and their leaf spring top mount it all works together great!

Do instructions say where exactly tabs should be welded at?

Yes they do

Yes they are.

How long did the install take you for the bed cage itself, deavers, shackles, and shocks? I’m going to be tackling this soon. I already have the mounting brackets for the cage welded on, as well as rear fenders installed which will come off for easier access. I do like how you removed entire bed. Would you recommend that simply for deavers and king travel shackles? Or is having the bedsides removed enough space to work with? Any information is appreciated. Thank you.
@CaswellCustoms2 жыл бұрын
Removing the bed made the entire project that much easier, I highly recommend doing it. And it took us a full Saturday and a full Sunday and then we did some prep work Friday night. So basically an entire weekend.
@flawlessvictory_yt79412 жыл бұрын
Is there any way to do it without welding? Also do you need to cut through the wheel wells or can I avoid that somehow
@CaswellCustoms2 жыл бұрын
No there is not and you have to remove areas of the bed or the bed entirely to run your shocks.
@Futurebeefcake3 жыл бұрын
if you compare prices i would assume the ranchos wouldnt hold to jumping since they are only like $100 per shock vs $2-4k
@CaswellCustoms3 жыл бұрын
Oh I don’t expect them to perform even 10% as good, but I would expect them to not be blown out after only 10 months of use

How does it ride how much travel did you get out of it?
@CaswellCustoms3 жыл бұрын
It rides incredibly smooth, and I've jumped the truck and taking it through some whooped out areas. I don't have the exact travel numbers, but if you pair it with Dirt Kings front long travel kit it'll be a perfectly balanced truck.
@carlchambleeii28043 жыл бұрын
@@CaswellCustoms I was thinking jd fab front end but I guess as long as the shocks are the same it’s really just price point between kits and 4x4 is a must for me thanks!
@CaswellCustoms3 жыл бұрын
Ya I’m staying 4x4 but I’m going with Mazzulas front end kit because I already have my front King and it’s different than the one Dirtking runs. It has less travel but it’s the option I’m stuck with at this point.

Why not clean that rust and paint it being your in the northern area
@CaswellCustoms3 жыл бұрын
I had just painted it a few weeks prior when I did the fiberglass, and I had to finish this over that weekend for our schedule so I did t have the time to grind down all the rust and full paint the frame.
