Kiyomassa is so cute the way he follows his Dad around. It looks as if he is imitating Shabani’s movements. Like he is practicing to be a silverback. Well, I think Shabani is an excellent example. He seems to be caring towards his family.

I truly think Shabain is tired of Kiyo following him. When they came from the basement Shabain was definitely upset with Kiyo. I don’t know so I can only assume that something happened in the basement. Either Nene is not getting better or Kiyo was bothering her. You can tell Shabain was upset because he was showing his teeth towards Kiyo. I think it’s time to move Kiyo.

@ You’re probably right. I can imagine from Shabani’s point of view, Kiyo could be trying to intimidate him. I was under the impression that the gorillas could see Nene but were not able to come into physical contact with her. Have you heard differently?

@@Ann-j4yI don’t think Kiyo is trying to upset Shabani, I think Kiyo feels lost without Mom there and clinging to Shabani his only parent in there. I’ve been worried that if he didn’t lighten up a little with it, it might wear on Shabani. Shabani is a good Dad, but not used to them following him, they run from him. 💜😂💜

@@lady4vols​​⁠​⁠I agree. Nene’s condition is effecting the troops dynamics. Kiyo finds comfort in his father’s presence. Though Shabani is an excellent father/leader, I’m sure the strain to keep his troop together while also giving proper discipline to Kiyo, can be a bit daunting. The close relationship they’ve maintained thus far makes them the perfect father/son duo.

Toto wasn't able to give Haoko children, but she gives him plenty of love. Poor Shabani can't even get a hug from the love of his life Ai. I wish Japan would cooperate with zoos abroad, so that silverbacks like Shabani don't go to waste!

Ai's last 2 pregnancies were not the best ones Her first baby died soon after he was born and she failed to care for Annie leading the zoo to raise her until she was ready to rejoin the group Due to past experiences i doubt we'll see more babies unless a new female is added to this family
