Silverback Gorilla Wants to Communicate with Naughty Kids | The Shabani Group

December 2023.
It was the last opening day of this year at Higashiyama Zoo.
The weather was very nice and the Shabani family was taking it easy.
Looking back on the year 2023, it was a very tough year for Shabani the silverback gorilla.
There were several big fights between Shabani and Kiyomasa, but they managed to make up.
Recently, Kiyomasa has been showing off (displaying) more and more toward Shabani, but Shabani has been able to control his emotions toward him.
And today, Shabani was playing nicely with his son Kiyomasa.
Kiyomasa was full of energy and was messing around with Nene along with Annie.
Both Nene and Ai, the female gorilla, had good appetites and looked very healthy.
Half-Siblings Kiyomasa and Annie were playing near their father Shabani.
There is a statue of Shabani standing next to the gorilla house watching over Kiyomasa and Annie as they play.
and nothing has changed in their relationship since then.
I hope 2024 will be another good year for them.

Nene was born wild in Cameroon.
The other three were born in the Higashiyama Zoo in Japan.

I feel so sorry for these gorillas. Now there is another female in a space that is already way to small for them. Tensions will always be high and stressful every single day for the rest of their lives. How very sad.😞
