Nene is the oldest female gorilla living in Japan.
On this day, She was furious at Shabani for messing with her before lunch,
and chased after him, yelling and screaming at him.
Afterwards, Nene was proudly eating her lunch.
Shabani, on the other hand, ate lunch alone and seemed a bit depressed.
This Video was taken at Higashiyama Zoo, Nagoya Japan March 2022.

Shabani has been playing this game with Nene forever. He loves to get her to chase him. Al will ignore him so he goes to mess with Nene knowing she cant resist showing him she won't take his shiit. LOL! Nene takes crap from no one, especially Shabani. This old gal has spunk for her age. So funny!

We have seen Shabani running full tilt, and this was not him at his fastest. 😉 He looked like he moved just fast enough to let Nene get close. A number of times he seems to look back to make sure she was close enough to keep chasing. At one point he slows down when she starts to tire. I have no doubt of Shabani's affection for his ladies and kids, and he would do nothing to hurt Nene. She's still his main squeeze. 😍😍😍😍😍

Shabani always loved playing the chase game which probably relieves stress. But Nene & Ai never liked the chase & they don't respect him. Shabani hasn't had sex with Ai in about 10 years & he lost interest in Nene in 2018. Shabani has great genes, but he can't produce more children without a loving wife.

Kiyo has the "Stayin Alive" disco strut going on for a minute, too cute. There would havento be an endless amount of staff and money to teach gorillas to share. It is hiercy Silverback, highest ranking female down, then kids. Something we need to remember is THIS troop gets fed several times day, and gets a variety of food. A lot of other troops (like Momontero's family) get fed grass all the time ( even cows get grain) Since Shabani family doesn't have to worry about when their next meal is coming or how much they will get it makes sense to me that they share. I wish ALL of the gorillas were fed like Shabani family, it is so sad that they aren't

🤭 Oh boy, Shabani has always annoyed Nene 2:50 with the tag your it, and running thing, in which she is getting way too old for. She was already annoyed and then 😮 6:03. Only God knows what Shabani did again. We all know he likes to be chased, but obviously it was the last straw for lady wife 🌸 Nene. She kept up with him though (barking and alarm screaming) determined to give husband Shabani a piece of her mind 😌.

They do. This family looks much healthier and their fur looks so much better. They do have a lot more room for running and exercise. All that makes a huge difference.

I didn’t know this! I thought that the inclusion of grasses/grains/lettuces and tree(bark) types of foods were good for the gorillas. I’ve seen them feed the momotaro family grains and fruits, also recently they seem to get a lot of carrots.

The superior emotional intelligence of Gorillas is astonishing! Shabani just bullied Nene, using his dominance in the troop to humiliate Nene. She doesn't appreciate him touching her dignity and disrespecting her, She really thought about him letting her fall over when he intimidated her and then chased him and telling him off! He looked depressed eating alone and rightfully so. He knows she didn't deserve the humiliation from him as she respects his position within the troop. God bless this dignified old lady! I was pushed over by a Mountain Gorilla in Rwanda for standing up and not respecting him, standing higher than him, I went flying!

Their old enclosure was so cruel and I fail to see with an alleged new enclosure that it's any better.. It's so disappointing what humans think is appropriate. I do not like zoo's but some have beautiful habitats.

This is cute and all, but it infuriates me that this small af area is the extent of their outdoor space! Seriously though, why are there still zoos? The only wild animals that should be in captivity are ones that have been rescued and they're not fit to be safe if they were released. Yet people still pay to stand around and gawk at imprisoned animals. It's disgusting honestly!

Shebani and Nene mated and that produced Kiyomasa, so they have a son together. Shabani also mated with AI and that produced Annie. Unfortunately, AI did not take well to mothering and Annie was raised by keepers. Hope this helps!

I feel bad for these wonderful human beings/gorillas lol. To be confined to a cage is not ok to me. They never have enough room. That’s like you being locked in ur house and can only go so far when outside. I’ve always wanted to travel to see the wild gorillas.
