Poor Loango😢, it’s sad that he’ll never have a family of his own. I can’t imagine what it feels like to be forcibly castrated for no reason, and then to be forced to submit to your brother or be punished & act like a female for the rest of your life partly because you’re practically not a male anymore and partly because Lomako is an actual silverback. It’s sadly the same fate for Mosi but HOPEFULLY not makongo.🙏🏻❤️

Yes, you can see at 5:45 when Mosi realizes that Lomako has seen him messing with Dalila, he steps back several times. Mosi has already sensed Lomako’s dominance. There’s no doubt that Lomako will do an even better job of protecting Dalila and his baby son, Makongo😘👶🦍♥️💪💪

How old is Lomako? I love Dalila so much I’ve never seen another Gorilla that looks like her. Lomako is very lucky to have her in his troop and she has done so much for her species. A super mom and foster mom like Freddy from Cleveland. I’m also so interested in watching Nala she is extremely emotionally intelligent. Glad Dalila has her around for help as well.

I agree nala has special insightful tendencies that a lot of humans don’t have I’m glad she is on Delilah’s side because mosi is a thorn in dalilahs side I’m glad makongo has dalilah and nala. He sure seems to be thriving and is as cute as he can be but I wish the others would leave him be

While I'm very confident that Mosi would never hurt Makongo, it was really nice to see Lomako step up to protect Nana D and baby Makongo. He obviously got the message after their last "chat" and is asserting his dominance within his family. It was nice to see some calmness within the family. 💖💖 🦍

I mean I can understand why loango chases lomako along with mosi because he wants to protect his brother but the thing that both of them don’t understand is that they are not the ones in charge Lomako is and Nana doesn’t understand either. And they need to treat the other family members respectively like their sister Nana and Lomako. Mosi is lucky to get off with just a warning because soon there will be a time where he’ll be bitten hard and he won’t be able to do anything about it since he put himself in the situation and quite likely now that Lomako is starting to be more dominant and be more clear, direct and assertive.

Ugh. I was hoping that was not the case. Sadly it seems European zoos do not truly care enough about their gorillas to understand that a coordinated effort to building and maintaining bachelor groups in zoos is a necessity for the gorillas in captivity. Castration is a horrible alternative.

The zookeepers have always believed that Dalila is the best foster mother for Makongo. From the very beginning, their top choice for someone to accept Makongo was Dalila.
