I could fart into a microphone and dub that over a trap beat and it would still classify as music, regardless of anyone's opinion on it. And categorising music into particular genres can be very useful as people find it easier to find more of the kinds of music they like and to identify with those types of music better. Can you imagine your friends asking you what type of music you like and you having to say something like "uhh the stuff with the noises and the instruments" because there was no universal categorisation of music styles?

it's strange to me how people put this band down cuz they were young when they were doing it. Every single musician started young - so what? Robert Plant was 19 when they recorded the first Zeppelin album. Everybody was young - Clapton, Beck, even BECK lol - everyone. Steven Tyler, Carol King, James Taylor, Travis Meeks, Kurt Cobain - EVERYONE! Why do people focus on the age? Frogstomp is a bomb album - it just kicks ass - enjoy it! If they were super young, then that's something to be encouraged - not laughed at or put down - good for them! What were you doing when you were 17? Oh it’s definitely noticeable, I think a lot of people just don’t give a shit (not me personally). I see this with so many artists, you look back on River Phoenix photos, and 70% of what you read is of how handsome he was rather than how amazing he was as a person, as an actor and as a musician. He did so many fantastic things in his lifetime, yet all they can focus on his his pretty face and upturned nose. That’s fame for you, I guess. He sees that there shy, and doesn't give up on establishing rapport with them until he finally breaks through at around 9 minutes, haha. Also, I like how he treats them with a lot of respect [which they deserve, of course] even though they're very young. At that time, he couldn't know if they were just a passing fad or here to stay, but it seems obvious that he recognizes how talented they are. He also asks good questions, imho. Young Daniel always felt he didn’t deserve the fame/recognition he was getting which is why he always felt like he had to prove himself with his music. He said this becoming famous as a child was a freak incident. Which changed the course of his life forever.
