Those boys were living a dream, too bad about the comparison to Nirvana and the grunge scene.

It's worth noting everyone at their high school hated them and bullied them when they became famous. They had a really hard time and I think Johns even pulled out and finished his education home schooling. From what I've heard their entire hometown of Newcastle really hated them. Not sure why. Australia has a weird problem of tall poppy syndrome.
@Christa5699 Жыл бұрын
Nz and Australia has tall poppy syndrome baaad. I'm from nz. I can imagine also that the grunge kids weren't exactly the "cool kids" either
@mariaalejandrapiedra5765 Жыл бұрын
Actually on Daniel's podcast he never told his parents about the bullying so he stayed in school because like he said in the interview, his parents would say that's what would keep him grounded, not knowing that that would trigger some of the worst trauma he later had to deal with.

Jealous of them! People are the worst!

How could anyone hate them? No other reason than jealousy. They were pure talent.

No way! I remember my friends mom listening to them when we were 10 years old, she would take us to school band skate parks jammin frogstomp. Always thought they were an old established rock band. They were a few years older than us at the time! 🤯

And they wrote some of it when they were 12 and other parts at 13.

Its sad really how uncomfortable tgey were and how they couldn't think of anything good about it! If only they made it just a few years later? But then again the Beatles were working harder then them at there age in Germany
