Not at all if you listen closely Silverchair and Nirvana’s music are far from being similar. Dan and Kurt truly didn’t write the same type of lyrics and neither the same kind of riffs. Nirvana’s riff were smoother, more rhythmic and more punkish meanwhile Silverchair’s were harder and much more metal influenced. They were both grunge bands sure but they’re still very different just like Nirvana and Alice In Chains, they don’t sound similar at all
