After going through a nozzle a year for several years, I settled on a very simple one like the dramm 3 or so years ago and it's still going strong. It just doesn't have the second on/off lever so everything is controlled by twisting the end. But, it's simple, doesn't leak, etc. Might have to check out that dramm, thanks for the review.

This worked great with my Honda 2600 psi Pressure washer kzbin.infoUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP , it came with two different size adapters, and tread tape so you're ready to go. I used it on my sidewalk that was getting dark and it worked great with no sprayer streaks. Just back and forth, really easy and way better than the spray adapters that came with my Pressure washer.

Harbor Freight has a garden hose nozzle for about $14 that has a 4 oz dispenser container integrated into it for car soap etc. It has a small knob that allows you to make micro adjustments up or down on the pressure of the spray and has about 8 or 9 spray settings. Mine has not leaked or dripped in the 2 years I’ve had it. It has been a surprisingly good nozzle that is very comfortable to use.

I picked up the Gilmore Heavy Duty thumb and think it's great after using it for a few months! No problems with leaking and I'd give it a B+. It's really well built, feels like it's high quality and sprays the jet stream far. I use these mainly for washing the car quickly (I'm probably the only person you'll see washing a car in sunny 30 degree weather), and always look for the Fan spray for water conservation and sheeting. As long as it's not dropped and is brought in from the cold weather, it'll probably last a really long time.

I get the brass nozzles like your Dramm in the video because of storage. When i remove the nozzle, I keep it next to my hose bibb, inserted on top of a scrap of pvc pipe i stuck in the ground. The brass nozzle is easy to clean if it gets clogged. The rubber o rings can be replaced. I buy multiple nozzles for my many hose bibbs, all the same brand, so i can keep the right o rings on hand. The nozzles dont get lost laying on the ground, because i know to put it in the pvc “holder”

Thanks for doing this video, I have spent so much money I’m purchasing different ones just like you did here. I agree the Fanhoe is one of the better models with the pull handle rather than the back push handle. Maybe my expectations are too high, I expect these to last at least 3 to 4 years, that’s a lot of summers. I find the pull handles are the best, however now they are breaking because I drop them on the ground in between washing something. The brass simply just cracks.

Thank you for reviewing the nozzles and posting! Yeah, happy Gilmour is crap...I like the old school pistol grip where u QUICKLY control the spray, from soft to jet, without having to turn anything, etc. The only thing to look out for on these is to use the Teflon tape on the threads, use a better rubber washer, and ensure u dry it up to avoid it getting rusty.

One: When turning the turret to get different patterns, always turn it so you’re always tightening the center screw rather than loosening it causing a massive water to leak. Two: Always get as much brass as you can find! Especially the knob on the water adjuster screw. Inevitably somebody will throw it down on the ground and the plastic adjusting knob will break off making the nozzle a candidate for the trash can!

I bought one of the Fanhaos and a DRAMM. Used them for a couple of months and bought another Fanhao. The problem with the DRAMM is that if you want it off you have to manually turn the nozzle until it's off, which also changes the pattern as you do so. On the Fanhao (and the Gilmour Industrial for that matter) all you have to do is let go, and when you squeeze again it's at the same pattern you were using.

I would like 2 more so hopefully I run into the guy at a show again 🤣 I see one at my local parts store that is a flexible plastic tube that has 3 ball bearings that constrict the tube to change the pattern looks kind of neat I would like to see that reviewed.

Nothing beats the gilmour select a spray nozzle for the sole reason of the cone-jet-full setting. It works perfectly When watering flowers and shrubs for the landscaping profession without clicking back and forth between settings. Simply apply more pressure for a more streamline spray and less pressure for more of a shower. And it has all the other typical settings as a bonus. Available in plastic and and metal, 6.99 and 9.99 respectively at my local hardware store.

I notice you commented over and over again, that one or the other nozzle was made of metal. What I’ve found over the years, the type of metal is important. Brass is a gold standard, as it stronger than die cast and doesn’t corrode. The worst combo is cheap die cast or Aluminum, threaded onto aluminum hose ends. The two will corrode together and you won’t be able to get apart. I’m noticing a lot of new hose ends that are colored to look like brass but are not (you can tell by weight). Better to find actual brass! Also, better to find cast pieces than thin walled pieces. Not only does the cast last but stands up to being run over by a car tire and such.

These products are like many other items today: cheaply made and cheaper to replace than repair. I have a sprinkler and nozzle from over 30yrs ago that still work excellent and everything I bought similar since has been junk compared to them. This is where the so called environmental activists need to focus their efforts. Products that end up in landfills a year or two after manufacturing, or where replacement parts are priced too high deterring repair. It’s an epidemic.

I can't get passed 5 yr mark before my water heater takes 💩 and they have all said "proudly made in USA". Ive seen older water heaters 11 yr mark still going and these MFers don't drain them annually like i do. IDK im just venting, damn video aint even bout water heaters.......GARDEN HOSE ACCESSORIES😁👍🏻.

You are right. Many cheap sprayers out there. Most throw away after a year or 2. I bought the cheap $5 metal trigger type. Works for what I want. Year 3, but not flashy or something to get excited over. Just works.

I have a few Dramm products. They are more expensive but they are extremely well built making them cheaper in the long run. The adjustability of their lawn sprinkler is the best on the market.

Orbit model 26700 is great! Some hose guns fail at their shut off lever so I never use the lever. Instead I add a separate small shut off ball valve between the gun and the hose connection. This orbit has great nozzle options. Some clogged hose guns can be cleared by soaking it in vinegar for a day or two.

@@Samuelfish2k I damaged a faucet cartridge when I soaked it in straight CLR. It probably ruined the rubber O rings. Maybe I should've diluted the CLR. If vinegar fails me on a clogged hose gun I'll go nuclear with CLR.

Gilmour sux.... im sure the industrial one is as you say. But the others between the gasket falling out when you change utilities such as to a sprinkler, to the heads dripping and wasting water.

The fireman type nozzles work fine if you have the pressure and volume. If the water pressure is low, they are poor.

Another thing about the Fanhao and Dramm is that the orings are easy to replace if they fail. I have both of these because I was tired of buying new hose nozzles every year

Thanks for the excellent video. I believe you could do another review of hose nozzles just on *Orbit* models alone. I think you'll find a true winner among their many models. I purchased the Orbit Max 8-Pattern Pattern Wand many years ago and it's been as close to perfection of any I've found. I would, however, like to see what you think of the Orbit 8-Pattern Pattern Nozzle. I haven't tried it yet but it looks promising.

I agree, I have the same Orbit Max wand and the Max spray gun nozzle. Built to last + quality. I’ve found every Orbit nozzle I’ve bought to be of much higher quality than any other brand. IMO Every nozzle he tested in this video is crap.

@@VanBoy If you get the brass quick connects, make sure they’re actual real brass. You’ll see some online that are usually sold in sets of 4 for what looks like a great deal, but they’re actually lightweight aluminum and not actual brass and they work like crap. They leak + they don’t fit right, defeating the whole purpose of a quick connection. I like the Gilmore brand brass quick connects and a brass shut off valve for each end of the hose where you add a quick connect, that way you can change or remove your nozzle without having to walk back to the spigot and turn it off. I’ve had them on all my hoses for about 4yrs. and they still work like new. Zero leaks.

My favorite will always be the brass barrel nozzle with fine threads like the one you showed. There is one down-side to them however. You have to be careful not to drop them on concrete. They will only survive a few drops before they break, either the at the hose connector or the sealing port at the tip. As long as you lower the nozzle to the ground and drop the hose, they will last almost forever.
