Actually I have done that deal... I received 6 American Silver Eagles...4 are 1987 and 2 are 2013 What's weird about this is that I, in 1987, lost my best friend in an automobile accident. In the beginning , I paid absurd premiums just to get Eagles , or Libertads ,or Maples ... Many semis ,or BU later ,I figured out I was wasting money ,or silver . Now or since then ,I woke up to the fact that ,Silver is Silver no matter what anybody says SHFT , means it won't friggin matter at the end of the day ! I now buy only 2nd MKT from JM or Provident ,rounds mostly . Even scrap is on the table now . Most everyone figures out ,its just silver eventually , in addition ,after stacking for a bit , you figure out how heavy silver in any quantity ... On that day you turn to gold coins or bars , because that silver is going to stay right where it is ,if you need to bug out , this is a rude awakening ! If you get burned out ,your self defense will melt as well as your stack , keep both in a spot that might be colder ? If thats possible ... I stopped buying stuff I liked ,just because it was cheap in the 14 .00 ish range , cheapest rounds are best deal now , last week I got some rounds that were the Apollo anniversary , lol Iies on coins , landing on the moon LOL !

Exactly. I always wondered why people buy BU or high premium bullion coins. It's just doesn't make any sense in my mind: if the weight in silver is the key feature and bullion coins have barely any numismatic value anyways, what is the point of paying for BU popular brand bullions especially if one just stacks them on top of each others unprotected in a tube. Personally. I do think stacking government minted coins reduces the chance of getting fake silver. The generic rounds with simplistic minimal designs and little security features just don't look safe to me. I think any government minted bullion with generally MS60+ quality is good enough for stacking and would remain liquid when exiting.

Thanks. I missed this deal but gave it some serious consideration. With the drift upward on price I've become somewhat of a tightwad. I keep my cost above spot at less than 10% which is hard if you happen to like Morgan and Peace dollars (even cull). They put up a Pre Black Friday Sale of random 1/4 oz gold coins for $5 a coin over spot and another SKU of Pre 1964 mixed Half Dollars $25 FV at Spot. It was too good to resist. So I ordered 2 Lots of Silver and 2 of the gold coins. It will be interesting to see what I get. I usually order in the wee hours of the morning. I have noticed a tendency for the Asian Markets to trade slightly lower at this time, though of course not always. I got an extra 10¢ off the silver with this theory today, $1.40 on the gold.

Spot plus 10%, that's all it worth . Coin collecting is for personal use only. No coin dealer is going to pay more than spot for the most part. Proofs, nice plastic holders mean nothing. Another item so called precious gems, have next to no market either. Went to a pawn shop they strip rings all the time for gold content. the stones , they had like 350 carats of stones every type you could imagine , there is no market for them. So if you think there's a market for your collectible coins , rethink it. I have a huge coin collection, over the last twenty years from time to time I've tried to sell off some of it. There is simplely no market, hard to find buyers. Bulk silver especially eagles maple leafs are easy to sell.
