I am thinking that they should keep eversong woods and silvermoon as it is for low level players, as an instanced zone. In later levels, we should finish the quests in ghostlands and see Silvermoon and Quel'thalas as they are in the lore: reconstructed and free of the scourge. Also, a 3d Silvermoon would be nice, surprised you got those aerial shots withouth half the citty missing.

If Blizzard was to do this, they would have to ask: "How and where can we make something similar for the Alliance players?"

@LinusAkaPano8 жыл бұрын
When you think about it, whatever expansion comes after Legion, i'm actually expecting blizzard to pull another Cataclysm-push on the whole world. Remaking all those zones who are so out-of-place with the timelines and push them into what would be the current year. Removing the scourge off of so many areas, western/eastern plaguelands becoming restored and possibly new villages cropping up, destroyed cities growing and more empty space see use. That would be insane.

The reason why this is not possible for Silvermoon is because the city has some flaws the programmers made when building the city as they never thought that flying would ever be added to the eastern kingdoms... Some parts are untextured and viewable while flying over it. And some other parts just dissapear... Although recently, with legion, some videos show that some parts have been fixed, which might be an indicator that flying would be an addition to Silvermoon in a future. The rest of the zones for the belves are alright, and fly-able... Regarding the Exodar and its isles, I think it's more of an "equality" thing here, since the whole zone is complete and ready for devs to turn the flying switch on... Imo they haven't done this as you still can't fly in Silvermoon and its neighbouring zones...
@johnbaca807 жыл бұрын
+Sahid Carrasco Well both Silvermoon and Exodar are actually part of the Outworld map. And Silvermoon is completely 2D. The flowers, the trees, everything. So flying above the city would ruin the illusion.
@sahidcm7 жыл бұрын
It was designed to be seen from the ground only.. As I said, programmers probably never thought of flying over Silvermoon... Since these places emerged during TBC, although in the case of the Exodar and its isles, they are completely fine, they're just protected with invisible walls...

Quel'thalas wasn't interested in joining the Alliance during the Second War, though they did send a small form of support. While the Alliance had their hands full dealing with the rest of the demonic Horde, they were delayed in the defense of Silvermoon (which they still managed to save). This caused King Anasterian Sunstrider to spread lies that the Alliance abandoned them even though majority of the population disagreed with him. Funnily enough, one of the knights of Lordaeron who abandoned his hometown fought in Silvermoon's defense only to go home and see that everyone he ever knew was already dead due to them redirecting their forces to Quel'thalas. That man later became Grand Marshall Garithos. So High elves aren't entirely void of blame here. You left out those parts.

It is by far the most beautiful of cities to me. It is my favorite. I started playing WoW January 9, 2007 and BC was released on January 15, 2007. I started out as a Human Mage and immediately moved to the Horde side and made a Blood Elf Mage and never looked back. I have since reached level 100 on three Alliance characters, but Love playing my Horde characters far more than my Alliance. Second most beautiful city is Stormwind and the music of both cities keeps me coming back for more.

Hmm, coming back to WoW after years (since WotLK days) being away. Great video, although some points I still kind of find difficult to roll with. According to the timeline, the Scourge invasion was Y20 ADP (year 20 After Dark Portal opens) and TWW is Y42 ADP. Also, I guess some of my thoughts are more for Quel'Thalas on the whole rather than limited to Silvermoon the city, but hopefully this feedback will still make sense. 1) With 90% of the elves being killed in the Scourge invasion, there seems painfully little attention given to consequences that would come along with that. Not only do you have the drop in population statistics (and near guaranteed trauma of many survivors being the last of their entire family lineage, something VERY important to the elves), but that also means you'd see... - huge drops in recruitable peoples, affecting military operations and capabilities) - loss of food production (as whole farming areas are left abandoned), which causes massive food deficits, disease outbreaks - a loss of administration and law enforcement personnel means a lack of means to provide the survivors with relief and public order, allowing for massive spikes in crime (organized and non), especially when combined with food and housing shortages from the Scourge invasion - perhaps MOST IMPORTANT a colossal drop in skilled laborers ranging from magical proficiency, martial prowess of soldiers, skilled blacksmiths (incl weaponsmiths and armorers), tradesmen, artisans, engineers, carpenters, sculptors, artists, musicians, farmers, and even construction workers...basically every aspect of which a society needs to function and survive on top of having an enduring culture would be - for the blood elves - a gutted ruin. And that's all before we take into account Kael'thas leaving with 15% of the survivors in his personal army (the Sunfury) to join the Alliance Resistance, the 3rd War's invasion of the Burning Legion, the number of elves who were unable and/or unwilling to return to Quel'Thalas for it's exodus from the Alliance and joining the Horde, the pilgrims who left their homeland to travel to Outlands, either being enslaved by the Sunfury or joining the Illidari at the Black Temple (a minority of whom became demon hunters). 2) All of 1 isn't to say that the blood elves shouldn't go from circling the drain and lingering as an endangered peoples and slip into extinction. I think there's an excellent case to be made for the Horde bringing much needed relief for the elves, whether it's from the orcs in Durotar, the later addition of the Nightborne (aka, Night Elves with extra steps), Tauren, or even the Forsaken (which might help alleviate any animosity between the blood elves and their formerly adversaries of a Scourge sub-group). The last is partially seen in the Ghostlands as the two stand united against the Scourge's remnants in Quel'Thalas, but that also leaves massive parts of the kingdom (and even Silvermoon itself) unpopulated by the blood elves. 3) Without feasible means to repopulate those areas, like the half of the city that is - in game - still overrun with wretched, I can't see a situation where the blood elves just "go back to how things were." Using the lifespans for WoW's wiki, we should just now be seeing a new generation of elves, born in the aftermath of the Scourge invasion, coming of age who are only just now able to to help contribute to the survival of the elven race (whether as sin'dorei, the few who still identify as quel'dorei, or the unknown percentage that rebrand themselves as ren'dorei). 4) Regarding the Scourge pressence, I guess I'm on the fence for this one. while i fully see the Forsaken and elves of Quel'Thalas relentlessly fighting what Scourge remnants there'd be, it's worth remembering that the Scourge is STILL an active force in WoW, as Northrend is STILL an active war zone and - AFAIK - so are the Plaguelands, Ghostlands, and other areas the Scourge has infested. With everything else the two realms have had to deal with (Burning legion, 4th War, etc), I'm not fully convinced they'd have the resources dedicated to completely eliminating this threat. The lore for High/Blood/Void elves is - thanks to Blizzard's neglect over all these years - a very (in WoW's lore) politicized and complicated mess, with some writing showing signs of painfully little thought process being applied, but it still sits as a remarkable and beautiful mess that CAN be cleaned up (as the Sunwell's restoration helped curb the edgy 'we're ruthless now! REEEEEE!!!' trope that came with the Sunwell's destruction), but also makes for some wonderful room for character creations for both roleplaying (in game and/or tabletop), normal gameplay, and interacting with other players.

@Doronsmovies8 жыл бұрын
It might be a retcon. The runestones I showed in the video are the four runestones, two of which we know the name of Falithas and Shan'dor. This is quote from the Chronicle: "Dath’Remar sent his most powerful arcanists to find a solution. Over several decades, they built a series of monolithic Runestones around Quel’Thalas’s borders. This barrier was called Ban’dinoriel, or “the Gatekeeper” in the high elven tongue. It would prevent others from detecting the elves’ usage of arcane magic, and it would also frighten away the superstitious Amani."

Why did the high elves call it Silvermoon if they worship the sun?
@JamJestKesh8 жыл бұрын
Maybe the city and it's name are older than sun worship? Or they just though it sounds romantic?
@arawn10618 жыл бұрын
it might have been as a honour/reminder of their highborn heiretige

Likely due to the local fauna and flora

When I mentioned them worshiping the sun I didn't mean it literally. They certainly don't see the sun like the tauren paladins (sun druids) see them. High elves in general are very skeptic and didn't even see the Light for what it is until recently. So by worshiping the Sun I ment it more as a symbol. There is constantly sun in their lands, they want to be the opposite to the night elves etc.

+Doronsmovies It was called silvermoon ever since warcraft 3. They had a tint of blue, on all clothes and buildings, instead of red. Blue=night, red=day. Also, Arthas atacks during the night, and in silvermoon there was this darker atmosphere. I think they realized only in frozen throne that because of this, they are kinda similar to night elves, so they decided to change. I think so atleast

My expectations were correct, they truly are Mana-Addicted pushovers... *Facepalm* To be honest this makes me want to laugh at Sin'dorei even more. Just LMAO they are so weak. I've heard of Mortality but that's an entirely new level! XD

Why are captions always enables automatically on your videos? Does not do it on ANYBODY elses so is it on your end? If so please fucking stop, it's annoying as hell. IF it is on your end that is, otherwise ignore that.
@Doronsmovies8 жыл бұрын
Because I take a lot of time to write them. I make them automatic so that people will see them, otherwise 1% of the viewers will take the time to enable them. If it does bother you can just click the button to disable captions.

I feel bad for them lol, Trolls and Orcs trying to kill them on the Horde side, and they were banished and hated by Night Elves on the Alliance side. haha

They should really remake all the quests for blood elfs and draeneis it feels so strange that you are so ahead on history with so many expansions and yet if you create a belf or draenei you feel so out of timeline

True, but we do need a good reason for Blizzard to revisit the city. A lot of zones in the game could use the same treatment.
