Thanks Chad! I’ve bought a little bit of everything. Over time I think you gradually work out what you personally use the most. Initially I kind of skimped on using thicker wire/sheet because it is so expensive but in the end I decided you just have to go with the size that is right and hope it is not money wasted. At least it can all be melted down and reused if necessary. All the fake Temu etc tat flooding the market means ppl think Silver (and time) costs nothing. I got a big plumbers torch (big can of gas with that you attach a torch to) for heating bigger pieces but it is quite scary to use.

Agreed! You kind of get a feel for what will be appropriate for a given piece with some experience:). Thanks for the nice comment Just Me!

Interesting discussion. I am remaking a piece in Argentium. The original is sterling and wants to blacken quickly. I think the wearer must have acidic skin, or possibly it is something in her makeup. It doesn't matter, she likes it, wants to wear it, but doesn't want to polish it. (and I get to play with something new.) Have you ever run into this, and what did you do about it?

Some people do seem to oxidize silver more quickly. I haven't played with Argentium silver myself, but some people just love it. Seems like a good experiment!

Chad, where do you buy your silver supplies?
@chadssilversmithing24 күн бұрын
I get most of my silver raw materials from Rio Grande out of Albuquerque. Thanks for signing up for Patreon Cindy!

Hi! I liked your video, it was good information. But it was annoying to watch since you didn’t make much eye contact with your audience. Perhaps you could work on that. 🙂

I like Chad just as he is. If you don’t like it don’t watch.

Probably a fair criticism:)

Hehe, thanks for that Just Me, but I was fighting a bad headache, so my eye contact might have been a little rough on that one!
