I follow few hairstylist on KZbin but what i like about you is that you do your hairstyles only with your own hair (generally you don't add any hair extensions). This makes your tutorials more realistic and it encourages me to do them because I know is possible with normal thickness of hair. And this tutorial is absolutely amazing! I don't have very long hair so I'm happy I can do this hairstyle and it will still look cool!! I love how you add small tip on how people used to secure hair before elastics etc. Thank you!!❤❤❤

Thank you for saying that! Sometimes I feel discouraged, competing against other people who more regularly use wigs and extensions to get a more screen accurate look. But in the end it's important to me to teach people how to do things with their own hair, whatever their own hair is.

I can't remember where I got these exact ones but if you go to Amazon and search "alligator" or "duck bill" hair clips, and then select a set that look like sturdy plastic, those should serve you well. There are some pretty large and aggressive-looking ones to hold really thick hair.

I struggle with the tiny side braids. I think maybe it is all the baby hair (that never grows) near my face. I can never get the braids defined near my face. Any advice?

Pick up veeeeeeery small amounts of hair to add in. Like, ten strands at a time in the beginning. This is maybe even too small to grab with fingers so having a hair pin or something to section off tiny amounts of hair at a time would be helpful.
