The cut hair doughnut used with clip in extensions to create volume without teasing is genius! It's going to make so many styles look so much better and be so much easier for me to do. I can't wait to try this great hair hack! Thanks so much for sharing it.

I have NEVER understood how to french braid (I am left handed and confuse the righties that have tried to teach me) BUT, with your explanation I finally UNDERSTAND it!!! I am totally going to be rocking this braid, thank you for the excellent video!!!

I finally found someone who's tutorials I can actually follow. Most other's tutorials include super processed hair and lots of products. You use your natural hair without too many extras, exactly what I was looking for. I don't want products and heat etc into my hair.

Absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I have been in awe of the hairstyles on Vikings since the first episode. Thank you for demystifying the styles a little for me. I knew they had to be using some sort of hair enhancements. I'm just sad that my hair has thinned so much as I've gotten older. I wouldn't have enough hair to make this style work, not even if I had the "rat" to work with. I could maybe do a regular French braid around a "rat," but I don't have thick enough hair to make the three French braids required for this style.

You have beautiful hair and I love the styles you're making, I want to try these so bad but my hair is much denser than yours and I often get totally overwhelmed trying to tame it, it's also notoriously bad at staying in place, it can't hold a curl, I've used half a can of hairspray on my curls before and they've still dropped after 20 minutes, it also gets greasy real fast at the scalp if I handle it too much so I don't know how well this would turn out, I don't give up on it though because these styles are so cool, I'll keep trying!

your videos get better and better every time! :) I can't help but wonder if you find that regular braiding thins/breaks your hair? and if so do you have any tips on preventing this? totally understand if you don't have the time to go into detail! I feel like I've been damaging my hair this way but I don't want to stop braiding it!
@silvousplaits9 жыл бұрын
uncia-septim Yeah, unfortunately I have found that... There are a few measures you can take to protect your hair's elasticity (it's ability to stand up to stress during braiding). The ones I use are regular moisturizing hair masks (I've written a bit on this on reddit www.reddit.com/r/HaircareScience/wiki/hair_mask_oils) as well as leave in conditioner after every shower. Sometimes I'll do a protein treatment like Aphogee, which doesn't permanently repair damage but can but a good band aid. I've also started doing a bit of henna in the last year, not so much that my hair drastically changes color but enough that it conditions and strengthens for a time. And then whenever I'm not doing tutorials or photos, I avoid hair damage as much as possible by limiting brushing and putting my hair in pinless buns/sleeping on satin pillow cases/avoiding heat etc. It really is a tradeoff though. I have a fair amount of breakage that isn't immediately evident on film but I can see it in person and my ends aren't very thick. The more handling you give your hair, the more damage that happens no matter what. Even more so if your hair is rather fine like mine. This amount is worth it to me because it lets me make these videos for you all, but everyone has to find that styling and health balance for themselves.

I fking love Lagertha's hair! so glad I found your videos. I may try jt on my daughters. I chopped my hair! heheheh
@makeupboss98126 жыл бұрын
Bonafidevixen10032 I tried something similar to one of the other Lagertha type of braids in my daughter’s hair once , she looked like a 10 year old Lagertha. She’s got the Viking hair and features like mine ( she’s got my husband’s genetics as well- he’s the big interesting mix , Irish, German and Native American Indian) So either way she’s got it !! I would love to see her do modeling. She’s got that picture perfect face . But that braid fell out pretty quick, her hair is thick , dense , slightly frizzy and a little like “ baby hair “ . She’s got dark and light , kind of like highlight and lowlights. She’s an amazing looking girl.

Silvousplaits so what made you decide to start doing tutorials for hairstyles from tv shows and movies.
