I realize these videos are 6 years old but for the basics I don’t think there is a better source on the internet! Thanks for making these!

You're a fantastic man, Chris. Silliness aside, these tutorials have made a huge difference in the ways I set up my cars. I can't imagine the time and work that go into these, and I believe i speak for a lot people here when I say thank you, Chris. You da man.

I have just found this channel and setup guides while I was searching for tips on damper settings and I have to say you're a godsend to simracing community. Those guides are just perfect - they aren't 30+ minutes long lectures and are short enough to keep your attention and explain it in detail, really well made.

Thanks Sal, much appreciated. It's a difficult subject to talk about, and I'll happily admit that I've rewritten the scripts for these videos half a dozen times over the spae of a couple of months to try and make them as clear and concise as possible!

I am a beginner at sim racing. I was searching for this for 2 months. There are some guides but they are 20-30 mins long. When ı found your guide I was amazed how simple and short these videos were. I really understanded these and the game is more fun like this. I recommended you to my friends. Thanks for the videos.

After fiddling with setups myself in sims, I have a whole new appreciation and respect for the guys that do it for real cars, where the costs of getting it wrong are so much higher.

Well Chris, you are one of the best KZbin video creators this side of China. Thank you for all of your fantastic videos and extremely informative content delivered with unsurpassed clarity. Chris Haye, Mike from SimRacing604, Jimmy Broadbent, and Barry Roland form Sim Racing Garage are all you need to acquire everything you will need to know about Sim Racing.... Thanks Chris, you rock... Cheers

Some critical feedback on great video series :-), I'm really enjoying these thanks. For a complete race car nube this one is a little vague. I'm knowledgeable with aerodynamics (education and I fly plane sims) and the main problem with this video is the actual parts of the car being discussed are (eg diffuser, splitter etc) sparsely explained. A basic diagram (or arrows pointing @) the physical components being discussed would aid clarity a lot. I guess now from you video I know what to read up on for this to make more sense and what to tune. (Prob because its a big topic and this is a very short video). *In short* : explain the components in a bit more detail, point out with arrows or a with diagram the item and a practical example in a sim is also helpful (viewers are wanting to know how to use it to make their car faster)

Top work mate excellent videos, I was going to recommend that you do a video showing people how to deal with the parts you talked about but you're on it already, again brilliant mate I'll recommend these to my friends. HAPPY SIM RACING PEOPLE 👍🏁💯

Hi Chris, watching the whole serie to take my simracing to a better level and I'm loving it! One question though. When you end all the technical videos could you please choose - let's say in Assetto Corsa - a good track/car combo to apply your settings to and maybe demonstrate how the setup process actually works when you're in a race situation? For example showing you picking a car, driving a lap, noticing understeer, telling us what's the first thing you'd do to correct that and go from there if the problem gets solved or not? That would be really helpful :) seeing these videos is awesome but if feels a bit like math, giving the formula and explaining it is great but having the teacher actually showing you how to solve a real problem with that knowledge helps to solidify all of that.

Hello Chris, Thank you for having done your Sim Racing Setup Guide series. I'm an Assetto Corsa sim racer and I don't know where to find the wings tool you are using at 5:35. Can you help me please ?

Nice informative series. A couple of things I'd like to suggest... Include which tracks/sims/car you use in each video. Would you venture into a Rally based series? I know a lot is the same, but there are also many differences for Rally that you could delve into.

At 5:50 you say that more rake gives more front aerodynamic downforce. I have read the competition car aerodynamics book and doesn't this state the opposite? Thank you anyways for the amazing series!

Many thanks once again. The damper settings video was yet the most useful for me as I never understood them 'til you explained it - and now that I understood it its silly as hell :D Just a question: Did you cover the Travel Range Limiter in one of your videos or did I just miss it? This little setting can make such an huge difference in car balance and the grip your wheels get.

I have just clocked, Red-Bull have always been known for high rake angles since Mark Webbers accident. though many think it is for performance it may be more about safety?
@tiberiuradulescu8695 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris,why are front and rear wings usually set up at different angles and what should be the thing to keep in mind when doing this ballance between them? I saw in many games this, usually rear wing is less angled
@tensevo5 жыл бұрын
I have no doubt rake angle is useful in reality but are you sure these sims are able to take into account rake angle, i mean i know you can adjust it, but I guessed that was only modelling mechanical. I thought sims just use a look-up table for wing angles to apply pre-determined downforce at specific point. I am not sure they take into account angle of attack. Do they? I dont think they are doing cfd under the hood. Can anyone verify this? Tanks.

Hello Chris! Really liking your videos! Do you mind if I use your videos to translate them to Hungarian (my language, because my friends don't speak English at all). I would definitely credit you and wouldn't make money off of it - as I don't have the requirements to do so.
