:Throttle throw is to much (subjective)but those wanting a solution You can put one of the rubbers behind the throttle spring removing the unwanted extra travel (subjective) and at the same time with a little bit of pre load it also gets a bit stiffer for anyone wanting to achive this. If you have the hydraulic mod and dont use all the gold metal spacers you can also use one of those but it does add a little to much of a Metallic feel for my liking but you could add a thin rubber washer.

My favorite part is the throw. But if you use 4 blues and 4 reds it's not much at all. It's perfect. If you use all blacks then yeah travel city but I love it. I feel like people who say this haven't used them. Because the calibration makes it for anybody to be Abel to use them with any elg strength and any travel even when light and long. It helps 10x with trail braking as he's even explained he likes travel so do I. This brick wall f2 style brakes make no sense anymore. It's why all of the active pedals all have travel. It's more controllable able to do longer trail braking without guessing. Full range of control. The brick wall pedal is made for cars with high g forces. You know why? Because it helps transfer weight foward when braking it's why an f1 or f2 car pedal is 2x as hard to push when stopped then it is in motion when slowing down from high speed. The brands who promoted realistic brakes never explained this. But we should be striving for road car feels not f1 or f2 car feels. It's ridiculous. We don't have any g forced helping us.

Get yourself the spring kit for the P1000 if you have them!!!! The elastomer hysteresis makes it very difficult to be consistent on the brakes, but also you have to take into consideration that the angle sensor does not accurately reflect the pressure applied i.e. its easier to squeeze for the first few degrees then it becomes harder as an exponent. This really makes trail braking tricky as you have a lot of percentage range in a small amount of pressure difference. After buying the spring kit for the hydraulic cylinder (still fits the non-hydraulic one). I put in 2 brown springs separated by plastic disks, which are stiff enough to give a good progressive feel like the elastomers but they have no hysteresis which means I could use the load cell. Within the first 5 hours of installing this I cut off 1.5 seconds off all my existing laptimes in iRacing and AMS2. Also I took the pedal load cell cover off as it has a defect that the load cell nut digs into the cover, giving you inconsistent results. Get the springs, and take off the cover!!! Also great review on the pedals :)

Haptics work in Assetto Corsa, rFactor 2, iRacing (ABS), and Automobilista 2 but you need to enable TC and ABS in-game in order to have these effects active. At default, they are set to OFF which will provide NO Haptic Feedback. You can find these settings within the options of each game title, some being Off/Low/Medium/High while others being Off/Factory/On. Also, make sure you are running the latest Software and Firmware: > SimPro Manager = v2.0.122 > Wheelbase Firmware = v171 > P1000 Pedal Firmware = v1.1.12

I've had these pedals a month now and love them. Solid build. Silky smooth movement. No Flex (mounted to P1X). The one negative I have is the depth of the holes on the pedals. I race in socks and with a stiff brake setup. In a long race braking gets uncomfortable. So much so that my braking gets inconsistent as I try to reposition my foot so I'm not always pressing with the same area of my foot. I've since made a removable carbon fiber cap stuck on with double sided tape and that has solved the issue.

iRacing doesn't export traction control with the telemetry as an anti cheat measure, so you can never detect it using simagic software or simhub. @adam45899 yeah I do think our Simtrecs are the best pedals out there in its class and price after that your jumping to simucube which makes zero sense to buy at 3500$ cnd per pedals. I had sprints before and they were great but so many options at their price now the low to mid level you have about 50 different pedals to choose and most will satisfy 95% of users so p1000 with the haptic option inverted option and how well they are built makes so much sense giving users so much from so little investment. It's a good time to be a sim racer especially a new one. No longer having to pay 3k for a dd or 1500$ for wheel you can actually be fully geared out for under 3k that's quite good. If I ever change from Simtrecs it will be because active pedals become affordable the same way DD have become. They can charge people anything for what is basically software the pedals have nothing new to mankind its the software doing the magic.

I'm a little confused by what you say around 6:10 - you prefer the positional-based sensor over the load-cell sensor because you're able to more accurately reach and maintain a braking force. I can see exactly what you mean from the software, but then why does everyone constantly say how important it is to have load-cell pedals? Wouldn't it be better to just have hall-effect pedals that use elastomers instead of springs? That way you get the progressive fell of resistance at your foot, and you could just use software like FreeJoy to adjust the input curve to a progressive/exponential curve more similar to the feel of the elastomers. That would be the best of both worlds, so why doesn't everyone do that? This is not criticism by the way, I'm legitimately curious because I've been looking at load-cells to replace my Logitech pedals but if hall-effect + elastomer actually performs better, it could also be done for cheap too since any spring-based hall-effect pedal could be modded with elastomers.

@michielvandorsser7691 Жыл бұрын
Fantastic review once more. I think the P1000 with haptic feedback is a very competative proposition. That brings a lot to the simracers that want the next thing in pedals. But at the same time I hear you talking about the elastomers in the brake pedal. And how the pressure is difficult to keep precise. Even though you like the feel. (wich I totally get) But then switching over to position senor in stead of load cell feels like a step back really. The last couple of years all reviews are about how a load cell brake makes such a big difference. And how a load cell brake pedal should be your single best upgrade. Getting a brake pedal with a load cell and then reverting to postion sensor feels like stepping it back. Fighting with one arm behind the back? I am still running a G25. ( lol ) The steering is very notchy from years and years of use. And the Force feedback on modern sims clips frequently. The brakes are stil based on potentio meters I believe. So looking at the Moza eco system, and for pedals I am torn on 3 sets. The sets being the: sim magic P1000, Heusinkveld sprints and the VNM pedals. Perhaps the hydraulic brake upgrade can improve the feeling of the P1000 brake. So I will be checking reviews on the hydraulic upgrade. The P1000's are on provisional pole to make it on my new rig this fall.
@chepilevski Жыл бұрын
Ah, the position sensor or load cell doesn’t make any difference in measurement! The problem is that property of the elastomers which relaxes after fast compression and is there with every load sell pedal I ever tested! I don’t know why nobody talk about this but is time to bring that problem to the surface! I put my group to test there pedals and everyone who have elastomer have the same results and we can see that in the telemetry! Position sensors are not step back and have nothing to do with muscle memory as the pressure we have to apply is the same no mater if the the load cell will measure that or the angle sensor! For the feet and muscles makes no difference!
@christiandoninger5951 Жыл бұрын
@@chepilevskiyes. All the years everybody said loadcell is so much better. But I never understand why this should be much better, because you need the same force to press to get the angle. Good review. I’m still going with the P2000’s primarily for the hydraulic feel but also the long throttle pedal face as I heel toe by pivoting on the ball of my foot and swinging my heel onto the throttle. With the P1000’s it looks like you need to roll the foot to the side. As for sim hub and haptics, it’s definitely telemetry based even if the output is driven as an audio signal you can select the telemetry functions such as TC or ABS active and map them to a particular output channel. If you create per game settings it will show you what telemetry channels are supported by that particular title.

I was extremely excited for these pedals, but decided to wait for your full review before purchasing and I am glad I did. The incompatibility with AC and AMS2 with it's motors completely kills it for me unfortunately. To the point where I would argue, what would be the point of having motors that only work with two specific games, much less have it have it only be effective competitively with one game. At that point, that specific feature begins to look more like a gimmic, even if it is useful in iracing. Furthermore, the lack of communication provided from simagic when it comes to future compatibility makes me weary of spending so much money on them. The review video however was amazing and honestly answered 90% of the questions I had. Thank you so much for such an informative and detailed review. I look forward to seeing what else you have in store for us!

Since i am on iracing (so only one motor anyway), dont care for inverted, and lights look kind of silly in my opinion (really annoying on atrax for me), the bells and whistles werent enough for me to pick it over a more traditional set of pedals as i would rather invest that extra money in "better" high end without all the features. Ended up going with vnm because they are essentially a modern take on the HE ultimate+ with incredible build quality for roughly around the same price as these and the sprints, and for a little more come with really nice adjustable dampers. And who knows, if other companies take notice maybe there will be a standalone pedal feedback-kit one day other than the current DIY ones you can buy. But even if i dont see the value with all the upgrades i still completely agree, if you are on a slightly tighter budget and especially if the hydraulic kit turns out good, these definetly seem like the best choice over all!

Thanks for the in depth review. I must say I'm a bit surprised. I've been hesitating for a very long time to replace my Thrusmaster T3PA Pro set, and still hesitate. For more than 2 years ! All this time, I've been told that load cell is a must, because of muscle memory. And you just told us that this specific P1000 brake pedal, which does both load cell and position measurements is best (for you) when using the position setting ? I'm flabbergasted !
@chepilevski Жыл бұрын
Load cell is great but the problem comes from the elastomers! Some elastomer are better then other but they all have some percentage of loss! If they use springs to compress the load cell is perfect!
@pandacongolais Жыл бұрын
@@chepilevski OK, understood. We're talking about a small problem perhaps, but enough to push you to chose the position setting. What about the famous muscle memory when using this setting ? And how comes that you are the first to talk about this problem that seems to exist everywhere there are elastomers ? I've been watching many many reviews these past years, and I never heard about that. Anyway, past the surprise, the conclusion is: if there were an option, let's say the P1000+, using the hydrolic + spring + load cell system from the P2000, you would switch back to load cell, right ?
@chepilevski Жыл бұрын
@@pandacongolais how it measures it doesn’t makes difference for the muscle memory as the leg applies the same movement no matter if I use load cell or angle , can see that on the vide my feet operate the same way! I put my Leah community to test there pedals and every one see that same thing with there elastomer and we can see it clearly on the telemetry! No one is talking about it as most people think they can’t keep the exact pressure and is problem from there feet but is not and I found that few year ago with one very bad elastomer and then start giving attention! Wen I use spring is perfect wen I go back to elastomer same problem ! It is not the load cell creating the muscle memory but the compression of the spring , hydraulic or elastomer and as long as it has some movement on the pedal, the angle position makes the same thing!

@@Jose-pq4bc Well, yes everyone does on all load cells. Holding steady constant pressure on anything is hard. Like holding a weight out in front of you with straight arms, your arms are going to drop pretty quick. Also, just the temperature will change how much you can compress the elastomers and how quickly. Cold they are firm. Hot they are soft. Use the angle option and you will definitely be able to hold it to a small number range more consistently over a longer period of time. You are still pushing with your leg so you will eventually wane using either. Angle is just much better.

Would you recommend them instead of the Asetek Invicta pedals? I own such a set with Bass Shake installed on the gas and brake. However, I am confused by the performance of these pedals and the operation of the hydraulic system, is it better than the Invicta? I like that everything can be bought and is P&P The next thing is the inverted model, which I have never used, but I am tempted. I was going to buy the standard set and mount without the heel pad, because I already have one, and under it I have BST1 and LFE, wic the original one is unnecessary for me. The nice thing is that there is a modular solution and it can be disconnected. I don't know how it is with the inverted system, generally I am forced to use my heel pad, meaning nothing can stick out past the gas and brake going in my direction. Review great. Thank you.
