I think Stella feels very trapped & vulnerable like a sitting duck with no escape route from predators in the carrier and stroller. If she were high up she would probably be more comfortable

For the vomiting issue, check for thyroid problem. My cat had the same issue.

I'm glad Simba's tummy troubles are over. You always have so many good ideas for your cat loving followers and can't wait until you tell us what his Vet prescribed. My cats have tummy issues too from time to time and it's not fun. Glad your shoulder is pain free👍 I've noticed the squirrels around here lay like that too when it's really hot out.

Your darling ferals are such characters. I love each one with a little bit of an edge to Simba. His nose marking is so adorable You mentioned how hot is is where you live. I read recently that the reason squirrels lay on their stomachs is because they are trying to cool down and their fur is thinner on their stomachs. That portion of your patio cement must have been less warm. And, of course, there was the added inducement of the treats...LOL! Cool your stomach and feed your stomach simultaneously satisfied Ms. Squirrel.

Cats with delicate tummies I have learnt a lot about in the last 10 years. It's not Cleo's fault but I found you can learn so much just watching a cat eat different types of food. Gravy or jelly food Cleo would start vomiting in under an hour of finishing a meal. Pate or moose food she would eat but not always enjoy and refuse to eat them at all like she is right now. Grain free dry food with high animal protein Cleo loves and the vet said it was better for her than any prescription food. I read the ingredients of all food for Cleo being an older cat most foods are chicken or tuna. Cleo prefurrs stronger flavours rabbit, pheasant, duck, deer and reindeer. Finding it is getting easier to get mono protein cat foods now and they are not that expensive and you don't need to worry about what else is in the food. As long as Cleo is a happy healthy cat I will buy her the food she enjoys. Glad to hear your shoulder is much better now, my wrist is taking longer than I want to heal being stubborn will not help just time. Take care Love, purrs, cuddles and kisses for all the cats If the cats will eat food with slippery elm it really helps reduce furr balls.

I've seen several articles (even on my favorite political show!) talking about how animals are coping with all the heat this year. One phenomenon that was featured was squirrels doing the same thing as yours - they call it 'splooting', or 'heat dumping', stretching out on their tummies on surfaces that may be cooler than the ambient air. I've seen my wall lizards doing the same thing; they like to wave their little hands and feet in the air. It must feel good. (You can search it on YT to see them in action.) So sorry about your shoulder. I hope you'll heal up fast, and that Sim manages to keep his digestion in balance.

The first thing to do is take care of yourself because without you the cats can't eat the box don't get change. So take care of yourself and like I told you before heat and ice 20 minutes on 20 minutes off. I hope you feeling better soon and please take care of your shoulder do exactly what your doctor tells you to do. You don't want surgery. I am so glad to hear you are feeling better and that Simba is doing well. I have been dealing with the 'throwing up' issue with Sundae for about 2 1/2 years now. She throws up every three days or sometimes every other day, however, once in a while it can be 5 or 6 days. We have been to see her vet; I like him a lot and he has a great reputation. Sundae's tests, bloodwork, etc. always come back normal if not really good for a 17 1/2-year-old cat, thank goodness no signs of illness. One thing I noticed is that she is never sick when she does throw up, either before or after and wants to eat just a little while later. I have tried changing food, it mostly happens when she has not just eaten. I tried antacids that the vet suggested, and it didn't seem to make a difference. Of course, this is different from what Simba was experiencing. Best of luck to you and your babies.

That's interesting about Sundae. Cats can be mysteries when it comes to things like this. I will be posting a video of what the vet gave to Simba and the cats with regards to the vomiting. It's a natural supplement that strengthens their digestive systems.

How much volume is Sundae eating at a time, or how fast is she eating? Maybe reduce the portions and feed more often? -- For dry food, try a small bag of Solid Gold Katz-n-Flocken, orange bag, Lamb and Brown Rice flavor (not Indigo Moon flavor). It's mid to high priced, but it was the only dry food a previous senior cat could keep down. (Their other flavors wee fine, but my prior cats haven't liked Indigo Moon, refused it, don't know why.) -- Very interested in Lady Feral's upcoming video.

@@benw9949 Hi Ben, I have tried many ways. Right now Sundae eats several small meals a day. I only give her wet food and I have tried a ton of different ones. She really doesn't eat that fast and only takes a few bites at a time. Thank you for your ideas, I appreciate it.

Slippery Elm - I recall that as a folk remedy, but I don't know what it was used for or what the ingredient was that might have been used in modern medicine derived from it. Interesting. -- I hope Simba is feeling much better soon. * Lady Feral, video suggestion: What about over-the-counter meds for deworming / anti-bacterial for people's indoor cats or if/when outdoor friendly strays visit? -- I've been using Litter Maid Corn Cob litter (and tried Walnut) for my mom cat's litterbox, to avoid clay litters, and cats/kittens have never liked any of the Yesterday's News litter types. Very good luck with the natural Litter Maid so far, plus it has a natural smell that's nicer.

I have had this exact form of tendonitis. Someone suggested Magnesium can reverse calcifications. You might want to do some research on the mineral and its benefits.

My prayers for Simba to be better and please, make sure that those packet things aren’t in a cats reach? They have caused kidney failure in a cat in a video I have seen about a month ago and the cat (I believe) had since passed. So, I can see that sweet Simba and your other cats are good in weight and definitely not hungry for anything😂🥰😺😺😺😺😺❤️ but, I surly wouldn’t want anything to happen to them either.i absolutely love, love, love cats so much that when I read that a cat ate something they aren’t suppose to, I usually think the worse. Kitten Day 33 Extra Special (2022-09-13) -- Well, we're in for it now! The little tux is the first kitten to climb out of the box -- four times now tonight. Little guy just won't quit either. I may have him sleep with me on the bed. He's in my lap now, settling down. I am very surprised it's not the dark brown tabby boy. Mama has checked on him, so she's OK with him being with me, although she's chirred for him when he was loose on the floor, wobbling around. Huh, he's happy napping with me for now.

Kitten Day 33 - 34 (The Night Between) -- Oh boy! Sleepless night. Little tux kitten got out of the box more times. I tried to sleep with him but couldn't after an hour, so I put all four kittens on the bed to let them play, wear themselves out, explore outside their box. Great fun! Until one slipped behind the headboard, under the bed. Oh my. Got the others into the box (tux escaped again) and rescued the dark brown tabby. Whew, he's fine. Worried little mama and me no end. Got the tux back too. Mama fed them, but tux escaped again. So he's been on my lap since then, and is totally content. Oh, I don't think he's my old tuxie gentleman reincarnated. He looks different and I think has a different personality. But gosh, my heart melted. If he's this attached to me, how can I adopt him out? The other three are good; even the skinny, creaky-voiced buff-ginger was having a great time on the bed earlier. We're all good. I'll be up a little longer but then I'll have to crash. Looks like the tux will sleep with me and I'll have to adjust. The others willl surely be out of their box soon. I'll feed the outdoor cats wen it's light when I wake up, but it could be later in the day. I'm beyond tired, so that I'm restless and semi-functional (maybe) but yeah, I need sleep.

Kittens Day 34 -- Big Boy Mystic came in, very happy to see me! The two regular ferals showed up (grey male? and brown tabby mom) but Ginger boy is still AWOL. I've had about an hour's nap and I'm back awake, ugh. The tux kitten is (finally) asleep with his siblings, but was finding places on the bed to curl up with me. Not sure if it's novelty or if I have a new fan. But dang, I'm attached now. Cute little face, but they are all cute, beautiful. No one else has made it out of the box on their own yet. Everybody's napping but me. I pu a pillow in the space at the headboard, so I hope they can't get in there now. Tux was trying to hide under the pillow by the wall when I woke from that short nap, so I had moved him. -- "Mumble" from Happy Feet doesn't quite suit him either. I'm needing names.

Kitten Day 34 Evening -- Mystic stayed in until after 4pm, was very happy to get attention and greet me (even laid down in my lap). No problems. I put the rest of his food in his dish outside the front door (the other side from the parking lot). Very happy cat, happy human too. -- Little tux kitten (and others) were all worn out from keeping the human up all night! So they mostly rested, and tux has (so far) stayed in the box with his siblings since before noon. Whew. All four are now very active, getting eager to explore. This is past due, since they'll be 5 weeks old tomorrow. Their first toy in the nest box was one of those avocado cat toys. They all liked it. ...Mama liked it so much she stole it out of the box, haha, so I've set it aside for them so it doesn't get lost somewhere in the room.

Kittens Day 35 = 5 weeks old! -- Whew! Busy all day and evening. Yesterday, the tux kitten was the first to climb out of the box. Today, the dark brown tabby did it. He's been so determined, I was surprised he was second. So OK, I put the kittens on the bed. They and little mama have been there most of the day, and oh yes, I have to change the bed. (Sigh.) They may all sleep with me tonight; I won't mind. They might honk out and sleep in the box tonight. Maybe. We've had their first toys. We've had our first tumble off the bed and the first accident where my foot and a kitten's path collided; thankfully, no harm done, just scared us both. The kittens still have to learn to use the litterbox and how to eat and drink from a saucer or bowl. Only one has drunk formula twice. Chasing kittens around the bedroom is more complicated these days, haha, but ended up OK. Little mama got out of the bedroom when I was in and out. I am not entirely sure, but during big-boy Mystic's visit inside, he may have swapped places with little mama Conchita when the bedroom door was open, before I got them all back to rights again. Mystic asked to go out soon after that; he wasn't in long today. No harm done to anyone; he and they were completely mild. If he did get in the bedroom, he didn't bother the kittens, but I can't be sure. Ginger came in before evening, and is still in. He (she?) didn't want to go back out; I offered. I tried to check, and I'm not sure of Ginger/s gender now. I had thought he was male, but even a neutered male would have male anatomy. So I need a better look soon. Ginger's collar got changed from the one I had first tried, which replaced the one he showed up wearing. If this new one has problems of fraying and shrinkage, I'll have to tray a different brand. Brindle, the big-girl year-older, once again seems to like having feline company better than she likes me. (She keeps to herself but does like att\ention.) I put a litterbox in the other bedroom, hoping to avoid any accidents. Ginger may not have explored the rest of the apartment. So, we're doing OK. It has been in the low 90's all week. That isn't entirely unusual for here, but yeah, we need to cool off some soon. I hope we don't get another sudden hard freeze in late winter like last winter. That was very weird for here. Northerners probably think nothing of it, but it was late and severe for here. Hot here, but OK.

Kittens Day 36 -- It was a sleepless night. The kittens loved their new jungle gym mountain and buddy (me). Mama liked having a free babysitter. I think it was after 9am when I got to sleep. I think I got up twice. By 5pm, I woke up, got up, started activities. Mystic big-boy meowed at the door to be let in and fed (nd get lots of attention). He ate the moist food Brindle (my big-girl) didn't touch, plus dry besides, and plenty of water. Did he want out? No, thanks! Petting. Lap sitting. It seems he takes up m entire lap sitting Indian-style when he lies down. biiiig boy. Conchita (little mama) got out of the bedroom. Rounding her up was a merry chase. At one point, she and Mystic were about a yard / meter apart, totally relaxed and proud of themselves, haha. So yeah, exposure much? Possibly. Back into the room, everyone's fine. The kittens love the bed. I don't think they know how to climb on and off yet. But this makes the perfect playground and cushy sleeping place (all over) they think. Having me or mom there is all good too. No chores done today, no groceries ordered. But that may have been the most almost continuous sleep I've had in ages, except a night or two ago. Except for letting Mystic in, I haven't even opened the door outside, so the cats will get fed tomorrow. It's 11pm and Mystic is still in. He used the litterbox like a camp, but I had remembered he did when he had almost ben a permanent cat before. I did offer to let him back out. Nope, nothin' doin', he knows what's good tonight. Likely, he may want out overnight. I don't want to starty up all night again, and I'm still tired. I've had weird sinus symptoms that don't feel like a cold. Better this evening, some. Groceries tomorrow or Sunday, I hope. I'm happy with how the cats are doing. Note: the buff ginger might be outgrowing some of his creaky voice and skinny self and possible respiratory issues. He's making progress like all the rest. They still feel behind the curve to me. Super eating / drinking of real food or formula, and litterbox training, still to do. Still not jumping or on/off the bed, climbing. At least I had a shower, haven't eaten yet. But I feel a little more civilized. :)
