Trouble with Splash and Boo, Too Many Cat Fights, Private Time With Splash - S3 E25

Lucky Ferals Season 3. Episode 25. In this episode:
Day 798. Boo is back to acting normal with regards to his litter box usage. It was mail time. Thank you to Bad Billy, Craig Danielson, and Janet Stemper.
Day 799. The cats watched the Snakes For Cats video. Splash and Boo have not been getting along. Stella and Boo got in a fight. Splash and Boo got in a fight. Simba and Boo got in a fight.
Day 800. Stella and Boo like to lick freshly showered legs. Hydrox has been looking very handsome. Birds were driving Stella and Simba crazy. Cats are carnivores by design. The cats were all waiting for crunchies.

Oh dear. Too many cat fights is right! I fell immediately in love with a beautiful fluffy senior boy that is adoptable at Petco, but my husband said 3 cats is good and we don't want to upset the balance. No bad fights or acting out potty problems so I should be happy.

Oh poor Boo and Splash. Boys, I love you both. You are both very good kitties. I wish there were not so many dominance issues between you two. Well, LF will figure out a way to modify this behavior successfully. That glass tiger figurine is so divine Craig!! Way to gift!! I love seeing what comes in the mail. Hydrox is looking quite well. Poor Splash, he gets blamed for everything. Boo ran across the room to attack him. Boo's litter box behavior is probably a claiming of territory. He doesn't like sharing his hooman.

I agree. This was a fight based on territory on both sides. The problem for Splash is that Boo gets how to finish a fight when Splash starts one. In this case, it did seem like Boo actually took the first swing. Splash appeared to roll over as a defensive attack. Stella on the other hand loves her Splashie and let Boo know not to touch her boy.

Splash is the least sociable feral. I think he merely tolerates people. The Hydrox is strong with that one.

@@TabbyTimeOut While I don't know about Hydrox so much here, I can say that I stand by my theory of Splash as a kitteh on the ASD spectrum (an Aspie-cat, as it were), given his intense intolerance of change and his manifest discomfort even with the humans who clearly love and take care of him.

Oh, Splashie. I wish we could understand Splash’s mind and all the cat etiquette rules they live with. Will Boo ever get the total love, friendship and acceptance from Stella and the boys? Liked that little musical interlude with Boo at the top of the video...very nice. Excellent mail haul, those blue boxes are so beautiful, and that mama lion figurine was GORGEOUS! Too bad about the cracked container of olives---were you able to retrieve any of them? Splash is a bully lately towards Boo, and maybe "Quarantining: him in "Boo's" room for a couple days might help, maybe put Stella in with him for a day so he won't be lonely. I'm not surprised Boo and Simba fought, seeing as there was all that tension between the cats for a couple days. Too bad, since Simba and Boo get along most of the time when it's just the two of them, and Stella was getting along with B. Velvet as well. Just a couple of bad days, one hopes. Glad Boo is back to normal with his litter box. Thanks for all the live streams of long ago Boo Days!

@@semperfi818 If I could catch them I would hug them. 2.5 years old was a little late to start socializing them, but I am getting lots of good tips on that and kitty nutrition on here. So I can now pick them up for about 2 seconds before they freak, which is progress, and eventually they will get the hugs you offer.

Of course Simba will fight with Boo after the Splash incident. He’s defending his brother, letting Boo know that if he messes with one of them he’s messing with both of them. Sibling bonds are strong.

Oh dear Splash you still can not ask the other cats to play. It is similar to people with aspergers and autism, they learn by copying the behaviour of others. Splash is acting how Boo used to act towards the kittens when they were kittens, Boo would claim he was only playing. Splash now thinks that is how to ask Boo to play and Boo does not like it. Stella still does not like it when her boys fight with Boo and blames him for it. It's no ones fault Splash was just born a little different to other cats and struggles with social interactions. "I still love you Splash but some work is needed to improve how you ask others to play." Everyone send gifts that LF and the cats will enjoy just hope the cats don't see how many squeeze ups they now have or they will be wanting extra snack times to get more squeeze ups. My cats now expect a snack before bedtime and sit together looking so cute to ask for a snack their favourites are squeeze ups and meaty sticks. Love, cuddles and kisses or love and hello to each of the cats.

Hi 😸 Relatively new subscriber here, first-time commenter. I've been watching since I adopted my cat two months ago and I reeeeally enjoy your videos!! It is possible that the cats seeing Hydrox closer and closer to their home through the door could be affecting their behavior and the relationship between them. I think they call it redirected aggression. Just something to consider :)

@@TabbyTimeOut There is no malice in Splash -- quite the contrary: he appears to be trying to connect with, say, Boo via a series of bad assumptions drawn impurrfectly from his observations ( _e. g.,_ "Boo likes rough play; I want to play with Boo -- so maybe if I jump at him, he'll play with me."), with disastrous results that he cannot seem to compensate.

It is to bad that the cats are still having issues. I know how it goes now that we have Lyle back in the house Simon just takes off and hides. So is Craig from the south both of those fruits grow down that way. The first time I heard about the muscadine grapes was on a cooking show A Chef's Life that high lights North Carolina items. They sound really good but I don't think we get them in AZ. I guess I will just have to make a trip during the harvest season to check them out.

FULL MOON TIME? I know when full moon my cats are acting differently. You right about THEIR behavior and remembering past issues. Hydrox is comfortable around you but still careful to not be to close . He loves you and is happy to be still interacting with the BOO CREW! My Sasha is a big boy too like BOO! When he pounds a door it is very loud! He can push doors open! He that strong!

It is a shame that Boo and specially Splash are having those issues..it seems that the Stella and Simba episodes are really an off shoot from the Splash drama..whether it is Boo feeling ganged up on and retaliating on others or defending himself.Private Splash time might be a good thing for his mental health as well..giving him some time one on one with you to, will maybe gain more of your trust and give you two some more rapor.

You know I’m beginning to think that Boo isn’t Splash real daddy. As I have read that cats born from the same litters can have different fathers or multiples. That probably explains why Simba gets along with Boo and Splash doesn’t. Honestly I’m beginning to think Hydrox might be Splash real dad. Splash and Hydrox share the same withdrawal and isolated personality when Lady Feral tries to get near them.

Ugh. My heart just jumped when I heard that you thought about isolate (!) Splash. Sorry that I put my nose into things now: That would be the most cruel thing because all that matters for him is his cat mum and cat brother - his colony. They are his raison d'être. All he knows, all that makes sense in his little cat brain. He is still a wild cat. Some cats (I dont have to tell you this of course, you already know) never get socialized fully or even half. Its not in their brains. It cant be done. Splash is one of those. He would never have entered your house if it was not for Stella and Simba. Now he cant exit. To take away his only safety, his family… no. He does not realize how kind you are because he cares primarily about the cat colony. He would not get anything about being isolated. He would just be more frightened, more confused. He heard/knew earlier about Stella/Boo fight. Thats why he showed Boo later that he protects his mum. Not strange at all. And no matter how sweet and charming Boo is, he was very aggressive for a very long time in the house and repeatedly attacked Stella and her kids. They remember that. Splash is just doing what a good son should be doing. I am sure it will all work out. Just give Splash the love you always do and they will continue their road with small bumps. But maybe it should be considered to have Splash as a both in- and outdoor cat. But never cut him off from his brother and above all, mother. I think he would be grief struck. Best regards,

Splash responds very well to one on one time. He’s much more responsive to pets, treats, food, toys, etc. It’s also a good way to increase his bond with me.

Sometimes having other animals outside on your property can affect the inside residents negatively. That could be a cause of trouble in the house. I hate them fighting but I’m sure you hate it more. I hope they work it out.

I honestly think Stella and Splash is conspiring against Boo. Don't think Stella is innocent at all and makes Splash do all her dirty work. God knows how many fights these cats get into when Lady Feral is gone away. Next time if you go on a trip , put Simba and Boo together and Stella and Splash together.

All I know that I remember perfectly well that Boo started having a violent deadly fight with Hydrox, this is when Boo was living outside. If Boo starts having a cat fight with another cat, Boo will definitely hurt the other cat in a dangerous manner. And remember that Boo has a disease that he could give it to the other cats and that could turn out deadly towards the other cat.
