I tried Gym80 equipment at Gold’s Mecca last month. It’s definitely the most heavy-duty commercial gym equipment I’ve ever used. Extremely heavy but they use counterweights so the starting weight for their plate-loaded line isn’t crazy. They use actual knurled handles which is 10 times better than the cheap thin hard plastic handles that cut into your hands that hammer strength uses. I’ve visited a Panatta showroom so if Panatta is a sports car, Gym80 is a tricked-out F-550 pickup. The only issue I had with the Gym80 line was that it wasn’t as adjustable as I’d like. The horizontal chest press lever arms were too high on the chest which exacerbates shoulder impingement issues. I couldn’t move higher up on the bench to fix the issue without my head being completely off. The dip machine handles were too high up towards my shoulders (I’m 5’10) and the seat is not adjustable, only the knee pads, so the starting point would aggravate my shoulders if I went heavy. I actually would have bought both of the Gym80 machines if they didn’t have those adjustability issues. The dip machine and one of the cheaper horizontal bench presses were outside, uncovered, at Gold’s and I didn’t see any rust. But I also don’t think those machines have been there that long but that’s just a guess

Gym80 is as the name suggests in business since 1980. Machines are known for high quality and durability. Made in Germany.

Gym80 is from Germany, their equipment is super solid, most gyms in Germany are equipped by gym80 by some degree

Man that paid endorsement he got from Golds and Gym80 musta been hella sweet. Congrats to him but it’s definitely transparent that it’s an ad/sponsored.

I wonder what it cost - $200k? Just can't deal with the outdoor part - crazy. Working out outdoors is actually really nice but the equipment is going to be all dirty and will wear out way faster. And he brought up the problem with working out in the summer heat too

I'm not sure if I could make it out there in the summer haha

The amount of RUST he will experience in the future scares me for such an expensive gym.

As far as I know invested the owner of Golds Gym (Rainer Schaller) in Gym80 - they have been producing best quality since 1980 in Germany

That makes sense! I've never used any of their stuff before.

It looks like this guy has just turned his tennis courts into a gym which is pretty smart, just sucks if it rains. Also LOL you looked visibly distressed during this video

Now that you mentioned it, that's probably exactly what they did! I was definitely having a hard time 😅

Gym80 is big over in Europe...my understanding is it's good and very over built like watson equipment

It's sounding like Europe is where some of the best equipment is!

Definitely a sponsored gym. It's a fantastic homegym but it definitely seems like an ad. Also I doubt any of that is stainless steel. Looks like gloss black powdercoating. Mixed feelings because it's clear they comped him a large portion of the cost to make this video. I've heard of gym80 but they're mostly in Europe (I think Germany along with va7), not crazy popular in the US.

That's truly a great place to train. Interesting to see, but it's definitely NOT a garage gym. I ain't mad at him for being able to afford such a expensive setup, but it's so far out of reach for the normal person that it's not realistic. It also has the feeling of a commercial to advertise the equipment. Hey, I'm just a retired 68yr old veteran whose happy to have an old Smith Machine 2,000 with a Gold's gym multi purpose bench, a few fixed dumbbells and about 700lbs of plates in a small corner of the garage,,,hahahaha. 😆🏋️♂️

The amount of fragile..bitter men in these comments. Sheesh.. You wish you were him. If his gym was Walmart sponsored you'd still have something slick to say. As much as indoor equipment gets sweated on.. his outdoor pieces will survive a lil California rain. The cardio is covered. Cheers mate.
