I can’t find the comment anymore. But somebody asked if the nozzles on the EA500 and the EW300 were interchangeable. I went to go check and here is what I found: The EA500LM nozzles will thread into the EW300 easily, but the nozzles are slightly loose. The EW300 nozzles will start to thread into the EA500LM, but then won’t go past the first turn or so. This tells me that either the thread geometry is different or the nozzles are slightly different sizes. Either way, I’m going to pin this comment in case the person who asked the question comes back. I thought it was a great question. :)

I have been thinking about a pair of these, but know I don't need them, even on sale ( the Linsoul fall sale starts on 10-8, and 11-11 is fairly close ). I like that they are easy to identify left from right. I very much agree that Simgot whiffed on the launch, and they are all so close. The EW300 graphs very much like the BLON Z300, and I hadn't considered it being a Moondrop May ( which I own, but have just left it on the DSP, even if the sucks ). I was surprised they didn't have a Simgot DSP app. We tend to agree on rankings, the Explorer and S08 are my favorite under $200 sets of the last year or so. I know it isn't a new model, but if you get a chance you would likely enjoy the Artti R1, it is a warm 3DD set that had very satisfying bass to my ears.

I love the standard EA500, and even the EW200. I've been looking at picking up another pair to carry daily as the EA500's live at my desk. I actually like and don't mind the brighter treble. Would the EW300 be a good set to pick up for daily use, or would I be better getting the EA500LM considering I like the treble? (Whichever I preferred between 500 and 500LM would live on my desk if I did go that route)

@@keiz_ The silver nozzle version of the EW300 would get close, but wouldn’t match the treble energy the 500LM can provide, even with the calmer gold nozzles on the LM. Yo, really like the way you review iems, its very in depth. I watched your chu 2 review as i own a pair of those, and ive been looking at these ew300s as a upgrade. Im not really sure what "sound" i like as i mostly came from gaming headsets. Once i tried the moondrop chu 2 i geniunely liked it way better than my epos h6 pro (300$ headset) and use it over the h6 pro. As for sound, i like the moondrop chu 2s, they are pretty much perfect for me. I want a little more bass tho. I also have a pair of cheap ass qkz ak6 pros which are way to bass heavy and sound way too warm. the h6 pros i hated the sound of and they sounded super cheap. What iems around the price of the ew300 would you reccomend with the same-ish tuning? im also looking for a wide soundstage too because i game. Or would you just reccomend the ew300s to me. Thanks!
@AudioAmigoReviews
@AudioAmigoReviews 2 ай бұрын
The EW300 with the silver nozzles is actually tuned pretty similar to the Chu:2, just a little less energy to the vocals and a smidge more bass. The Moondrop May is near identical to the Chu:2, but it's USB C only. But if you are willing to steal the cable from your Chu:2, it sounds great with the Chu:2 cable. If you want more bass from these 2, you have 2 choices, swap to the gold nozzle on the EW300, or go into the moondrop app, and load the Bass or Harman profile onto the May's USB C Cable. Either one is a great choice. I would go EW300 since the customizable tuning on the May means you HAVE to use the USB C Cable. But if your gaming rig has USB C ports, I would consider it, just remember you'll need an android phone with the moondrop app to tweak the sound.

Hi Audio Amigo, thanks for reviewing this new EW300. If you don't mind, do you know if the sound quality of the silver/standard ew300 will improved or reduced using the 3.5mm apple dongle/adapter? I was asking, because my phone still uses the apple lightning connection. I am thinking of just getting the DSP version and sacrifice phone compatibility if it will just result to inferior sound quality after pairing it with the apple dongle. Also, I was also considering the Sennheiser IE200. Do you think the IE200 will be a better choice for me as my first and only (because I don't want to have multiple IEMs for different musical genres) IEM than the EW300 for casual music listening and watching movies? Thank you!
@AudioAmigoReviews
@AudioAmigoReviews 2 ай бұрын
The EW300 is very easy to drive. It doesn’t require a lot of power. The Apple USB C adapter does a great job with it. The Lightning adapter has less power, but I think it should be fine overall, Simgot makes their IEMs easy to drive. I don’t own an IE200, so I have no experience with it. But if you only want to own 1 IEM then I think the EW300 is a better choice as long as you’re comfortable swapping the nozzles (just screw and unscrew) the fact that the EW300 has 2 different nozzles means you can try out 2 different sounds and keep the one you like more. Hope this helps! I’ll try and get an IE200 in.

@@AudioAmigoReviews Appreciated your reply 😄 "The Lightning adapter has less power...." - Wow. So that's the reason why when I pair the lightning adaptor with my extra 3.5mm headphones, which is included from my old android phone, the volume seems low compared to using it in pc/laptop. For comparison, I find myself setting the volume of this headphones on pc/laptop at only 10-15%, while the volume when using it on iphone with lightning adaptor needs to be at least 70%. Thanks for the insight. I thought its the same with the apple usb-c adaptor that a lot of people recommends as cheap dac for pc/laptop use. No problem. I only asked regarding the IE200, because it seems to be recommended by a lot of people for IEM beginners hahaha Thanks again for the reply, and have a nice day! :)

Have you tried the tangzu xuan nv,which do you think does female vocals better xuan nv or the ew300,im also concerned about the resolution
@AudioAmigoReviews
@AudioAmigoReviews 2 ай бұрын
The Xuan Nv is probably my favorite neutral sounding set in this price range. It’s a little warmer and less clinical sounding than the Hexa. With the Silver Nozzle, the EW300 has better vocals than the Xuan Nv With the Gold Nozzle, the Xuan Nv has better vocals. Detail/Resolution is pretty similar with the gold nozzles. But with the silver nozzles, the EW300 has more detail at the upper end of the frequency range. With both nozzles however, I feel like the XuanNv has a more detailed midrange. It’s easier to separate instruments and the vocals aren’t “warmed up” like on the EW300. Overall, the tunings are different. The Gold Nozzle is the closest in sound to the Xuan Nv. But it’s warmer. More midbass and less energy in the mids. The silver nozzle is a straight up V-shape with more treble energy and more bass. They’re both excellent sets. But if vocals is what matters the most do you, go with the EW300 and use the silver nozzle

And yes HBB does prefer the tuning on the DSP Version out of the box. I think if what you want is different tunings. The DSP one is the best choice because you essentially get 4 tunings: The DSP with Good Nozzle, DSP with silver nozzle, 3.5mm/HBB tuning with silver nozzle, and 3.5mm/HBB tuning with gold nozzle. Ew300 dsp vs supermix 4 vs Letshuoer S12 ? Love to hear your recommendations, on which one would have bst sound quality for the price
@AudioAmigoReviews
@AudioAmigoReviews 2 ай бұрын
It depends on your preference. All three are tuned differently. I'm personally not a huge fan of Harman Tuned IEMs, but the SM4 is a fantastic set. It's got similar treble tonality and detail to the S12 but is more vocal forward and a tiny bit brighter sounding. The S12 has richer bass and more natural sounding mids than the Supermix 4. It's also got slightly spicy treble like the SM4. The EW300 (Silver Nozzles) is the bassiest and warmest of the three. It's got less treble energy than the other two, but still has good detail resolution. The SM4 and the S12 have similar detail and resolution, both better than the EW300. The EW300 and SM4 both have that slightly metallic PZT Timbre in the treble The S12 has a medium/high amount of "Planar Treble" that can come across a little unnatural to some people. I personally would take the S12, but I have a preference for planar drivers, some folks also say it's too bright. The SM4 is great, and does everything well, but some folks ALSO say it's too bright. The EW300 is a transformer. It can go from V-Shaped to Warm with the swap of a nozzle, but it's behind the other two in terms of detail and resolving power.

If you have a nice dongle or a DAP or something with a headphone jack, I would grab the EW300. They sound essentially identical in terms of detail. They use a very similar driver combo. The Simgot has that PZT for a little extra something in the treble, but it can come off sounding a little metallic. Not as much as other Simgot sets. The Mids are still slightly recessed. But they’re more forward than the EW200 or EA500LM. The Gold Nozzle helps a lot with this.

@@Eden-qc8if Pretty sure. I own them both and have reviewed them both. The build quality alone on the EW300 is an upgrade, so is the cable and the accessories. The sound won't be as vocal focused, but it'll have better detail retrieval and the treble will be slightly cleaner.

could you had SM4 for comparison please :)
@AudioAmigoReviews
@AudioAmigoReviews 2 ай бұрын
I have the SM4. The SM4 has better details and resolution. The Gold Nozzle EW300 is a completely different tuning, but the Silver Nozzle EW300 has similar energy in the upper mids and treble. The EW300 (silver nozzle) has a warmer, richer, more full bodied lower end compared to the SuperMix4. The Supermix 4 has a similar “problem” with the metallic timbre that the EW300 has. But I don’t think the EW300 is close to the SM4 in terms of overall sound quality. If you prefer the tuning on the EW300 but want better detail and overall quality, grab the EM6L. If you want the best example of the “Simgot Sound” under $200. Grab the SM4. If you can’t afford the EM6L. The EW300 is the way to go. And if you can’t afford the SM4, look into the EA500LM.

@@AudioAmigoReviews I actually have the EM6L and SM4, was wondering if I should grab those, it's mainly for gaming and the details of the SM4 is better than EM6L, so I might just stick with SM4. Thanks mate 🙏🏻

@@Frank_P83 yeah, I don’t see much of a need to get the EW300 if you already have the SM4 and the EM6L. Maybe save up for the Ziigaat Arete. I don’t know much about gaming. But an IEM tuned by a pro gamer especially for gaming sounds like a good buy.

@@AbadyAngel With the gold nozzles, you can kinda think of the EW300 as a MUCH bassier Hexa, but I personally feel like the Hexa is more resolving, and you don’t get that metallic PZT sound in the top end. With the Silver nozzles it’s very different from the hexa. More bass, more treble energy. Recessed mids. I really like the Hexa and the EW300, but they’re going for different things, so I can’t really say which one is “better”

Disclaimer: i still don't understand listening to 'this'. FURTHER testing is needed. i've got EW300 'XOXO' DSP around last week (Monday - August 26). i listened to it extensively last weekend. ONE thing i noticed right of the bat, it somewhat 'FAIL' my HUGE EAR TEST. .. i mean it is difficult for me to get proper seal, it feels i can't insert it in my ear canal deep enough. .. no such issue with EW200 'Maze' despite both of them appears to be physically the same. For now i would say, there is/are something about the sound that appeals to me but at the same time turns me off (for both tuning nozzles). .. i am not able to pinpoint the issue though. .. to an extent i probably prefer KZ PR1 Pro over EW300. (i did drop a comment about PR1 Pro in your PR2 review) Anyway i can confirm EW200 'Maze' is A LOT brighter than EW300 'XOXO' on both tuning nozzles. Right now EW200 'Maze' which i deem still my most favorite IEM (after trying the 'XOXO') is just 1/3rd of the selling price of EW300 DSP. On my side, this is a tough sell however i will not deny it provides probably the best value for money in terms of tuning variations. IMO, EW300 'XOXO' is probably an easy sell to those who don't really have a lot of IEMs in their collection. And i do agree about those launch package that consist of THREE variants is a messed up planning. Personally "DSP" variant should have been named "xHBB". i would rather to have SIMGOT to just include the DSP cable in both EW300 and EW300 xHBB (of course include the normal cable as well). Then sell both at the same price or increase the price for the COLLAB variant a bit.

Thanks as always for commenting about your experience!! It helps folks coming to the videos get more information. I agree with you on the EW300 being a better value for people with fewer sets in their collection. I personally don’t think I’ll get much use out of the EW300 because if I want the gold nozzle tuning. I’ll grab something warmer like the S08 or the Explorer. And if I want something that sounds like the silver nozzle, I’ll just grab the EM6L Phoenix.
