I am very happy with the sound quality of my Simmons DA2108. I tested it at my local guitar center along with the DA2010 and 2012 playing BT music from my phone going back and forth. When on “pole” mode but sitting on the floor I didn’t hear a compelling increase in sound quality with the 10 and 12 over the 8. Maybe a tad deeper bass, but on the 12 it seemed to drown out the treble too much. The 8 honestly sounded most balanced in my test. I do recommend pole mode even if on the floor. Much better bass on pole mode regift the placement

Do you think 1 Simmons DA2108 speaker is good enough for the SD600 or do I need something bigger for practice?

When they sent them I tried the 8in first. I think they are perfectly fine. They all sound amazing!

I would suggest getting 2 if you can and run them in stereo. That’s where they shine the best

Technically, yes. You need to get a small mixer to make it work properly

I’m debating btwn this and the Alesis strike 12. None of the stores in my area have stock for me to try though. Any suggestions or experience comparing the two?

I can tell you that the Simmons speaker gives you way more options than the Alesis. Pull them up side by side on your computer and you’ll see what I mean. I’m about to do a bideo on this very topic

Skit…. I’d say really look at the Simmons. They’ve really thought their set up through. A lot of people will assume something without testing and discovering what they’ve done. If you want a really good experience and sound check out the simmons for sure. I’ve done some cursory checks on others and the Simmons is much more impressive. I have more videos coming to show what I mean.

@@KeithronPowell No i have NOT! But ive heard them , they just dont have that sharp crystal, clear sound as the ROLANDs do.! The bass is also not impressive, Try the Roland PM30 for the electric drums, it has been replace with the PM200! You can feel that BASS to your BONES, no need for a extra SUB WOOFER! try it and let me know !

I can't stand electric drums but I'm wondering if this amp can be used as a monitor for the drummer playing acoustic drums to be able to hear the vocalist.

They have their uses. I can play drums in my apartment pretty much any time of day. You cant if you play an acoustic set. Yeah, there are differences but more electronic kits are being sold now than acoustic kits. By far. This does not mean anything that they are popular. The kits have come a long way and are way better than the kits from 20 or 30 years ago.

Thanks for you opinion. I’d suggest trying them out and reading the directions to see what they can actually do. I personally like the sound and now that I have the subwoofer…. Wow! Their amazing.

@@KeithronPowell I got one 12" and it does not get very loud at all. Great for my practice room but when I brought it out for a pool party, I had the gain up to max and people said they could hear all the pad tapping I was doing. Does that change with a second one and then a subwoofer? I really thought these would be louder.

Yah Dwayne maybe so but those are twice the cost too but hey, at least their ROLAND, right?

@@codersexpo1580 they’re loud but one is not going to work well outside. It’s not just this speak but any… once it’s outside there’s nothing to reverberate off. Of course adding more will change all that. Depending on placement and a persons and speakers positioning will determine if they’ll hear the sticks on the pads.
