Can you split the cymbals as well as the toms? It Would be cool to add more cymbals.

Hey im getting the simmons titan 50 b ex and i want to upgrade the ride to a mc18 by simmons and it is a triple zone and i know that works with the titan 50 b ex it says it on their website but would this method of splitting cymbals work on it? Or would i lose my triple zone ride say if i want to add a mc13 as a splash cymbal? Splitting off of the ride cymbal

And i was wondering because i know the titan 50 doesnt support the new triple zone mc cymbals by simmons but the titan 50 b ex does and is there any alternative if my method doesnt work?

Once you split the cable you’ve removed some of the ability of the cymbal. Not sure how it’ll work.

Thanks for the great information Keithron. After splitting the toms and changing settings to get different sounds, does this enable the different (additional) sounds on the factory preset kits, or just on the user kits? Thank you sir!
@KeithronPowell2 жыл бұрын
I’m confused by the question… if you split the sounds you can choose a different sound from the module it should matter if it’s user or standard. Even if it’s only module it’s still a good deal.

If i wanted to upgrade this kit in the future and bought dual zone toms would both zones work ? with or without a splitter etc. Thanks for all the informative videos on these kits they have helped me a lot.
@KeithronPowell2 жыл бұрын
Ok…. The Titan 50 pads are NOT dual zone. The cable and the module are. So… you can split the cable and add extra toms and each will be single zone. It doesn’t matter if the pad is dual though. The only Tom pad that is dual zone is the snare. Now if you get dual zone toms you can swap out the original and have dual zone but you’re limited to only the 3 or 4 toms. By splitting you can add up to 4 additional toms for a total of 8. You can however assign any sound to the extra toms for cymbals or whatever is in the module.
@jeremycurtis5292 жыл бұрын
@@KeithronPowell Awesome! Thank you! Yeah I was just thinking that in the future if i were to buy some dual zone pads it would be cool to swap them out with the stock single zone pads and have both zones work and it sounds like it would. I appreciate the response!!

I’m having a hard time finding a splitter/coupler combo that works. I have tried about 5 different splitters from Amazon and no luck. I only get one symbol/tom to work. Am I doing something wrong or is it the coupler? I should add, I am using the expansion kit for the SD600 since it is as half the price of the 50
@KeithronPowell9 ай бұрын
You have to make sure it’s stereo (female) to left and right out (male). It sounds like you’re using all mono.

I have the exact same kit. I didn’t buy the coupler, and just bought the splitter. I’m using it for cymbals, but It doesn’t split the sound. Essentially, I can’t change the sound coming from the added cymbal. Does the coupler make a difference?

If your splitter is not left/right capable it won’t split properly. It’ll be red and gray/white. If it’s not that’s the issue

i just saw this video for the first time greta video by the way. so, expanding more toms my question. you would have to add or purchase another cage for them to be added correct?? if so, the cage is probably not going to be able to link to the existing cage you have already? do you have an idea of how it would be. what im trying to say i guess it would not be a wrap around like an acoustic kit it would have to sit off to one side right?

Hey Keithron, I have a Simmons SD1200 kit and wondering two things: Is there a way to add more toms and cymbals other than the expanded pack and when programming and tuning them I am trying to get a good "thump" on the toms where there is no "ringing" or echoing. Do you know how to get that done?
@KeithronPowell2 жыл бұрын
I need to get a 1200 module. I don’t have one but from what I understand, the module didn’t change much. You can add more toms by splitting BUT you will lose dual zone capability. Each tom will be a single sound. So it depends on what’s important. The true only way to expand is the expansion kit.
@ManuelPerez14062 жыл бұрын
So I guess if you have an extra cymbals instead of another tom, you could split it from the Tom so instead of 2 Toms split you can have Tom an cymbal?

I think I've seen a guy do it with a dual zone head ...I guess it splits the rim trigger and center trigger and u send one to the crash cymbal and edit the sound to whatever u want .... But you lose the options of hitting the rim on the dual zone because it's sent to the cymbal ....if that makes sense lol.
