yeah, but 'the voice', horrid as it is, is a copy of the other singing talent shows. in fact, it ripped off 'x-factor' that simon created, and rushed to usurp him in America and caused his 'x-factor' show in America to bomb as it was similar. who knows what stars he and his team would have discovered by now, and it ruined things. at least we had 5th harmony, but who knows what we missed, since only simon makes and allows groups in!

WOW, this is really a full-circle moment! I never thought this would happen! A young, unknown girl from Texas auditioned for American Idol in 2002. She won, sold many millions of records, and today she has her own talk show interviewing the 3 judges who first discovered her. #mindblown 🤯

Kelly is very real and she seems like she doesn't have the ability to be fake even if she wanted to. I absolutely think she's genuine. This is why I think people voted for her cause she was just a normal 20 year auditioning for chance and it was meant for her to have that opportunity to audition that day so many years ago and to go on and win the show and there have been others who have had a lot of success such as Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry in the band Daughtry, Jordan Sparks, oh yes and I can't forget Adam Lambert in 2009 and he didn't even win first place. Adam Lambert was a second runner up. Good love them all

I still think a lot of people don't have any idea of Kelly Clarkson's real legacy. In the late 1990s up to the early 2000s, it was not an uncommon thing to ridicule talent shows especially when dealing with potential recording artists. Her popularity and successful career since the mid-2000s validated talent shows not just as must-see TV but also, a source of immense talent that companies could secure deals with to make records and do sales. Even more so nowadays that more people, including outside the U.S., know her and the likes of Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson, to name a few, than American Idol as a whole brand. They're that good since stepping on that show.

HE was getting dead bored by the last days of his first swing on 'IDOL', you could tell, so why would he go back? I guess he was all excited about 'X-FACTOR USA' that he was working on. TOO BAD 'The Voice' ripped him off and ran to get ahead of him, with the '3 judges' thing and blanked all over it, and made him be canceled and humiliated.

I've said the same thing as Simon, ever since that first season... that if Kelly hadn't won, Idol wouldn't have lasted long... maybe not after that season. She's what helped give it credibility... that it could crown an actual star. She was amazing then, and is still amazing. I love that she'd always stayed true to herself, and I'd put her up against anyone vocally. Love her!

Therefore the American big three CBS ABC & NBC has to license them from the European owners or otherwise face legal challenges and face lawsuits for unlicensed production of their talent shows. Homegrown American equivalent for them are Star Search and Name that Tune

I cannot express how happy I am that they did the show, and that Kelly found her way there. I’ve loved her since I first heard her song “A Moment Like This”. I hadn’t seen the show, but that’s how I first knew of her. Over the years I bought all her CDs, and I’d play them on repeat, just mesmerized by her beautiful voice. I was in Miami when they were filming the Movie" From Justin to Kelly" with Kelly Clarkson as one of the stars. I saw a few of those scenes being filmed. One night I was walking down the path by the beach and Kelly Clarkson was walking towards me all by herself. As she passed by me she gave me the cutest little smlle and I smiled back at her. I honestly didn't think she was going to be the mega star she is today, but every now and then I look back on that moment and smile:).
