As with the controversy during the Olympics we really need to remember that none of the difficulties in categorising Imane Khelifs sex/gender is 'her' fault. People should be kind and try to understand the difficulties and challenges that 'she' has no doubt faced. Safety should be primary but there's no need to be cruel to an individual.

Sod passports, difficult/grey areas, or what Stonewall says, for once I'm also in agreement with Simon Jordan here i.e. when it comes to competitive/professional sports, the determining test should be a person's chromosomes - I appreciate that might be unfair in a small number of cases, but anything else makes it a 'subjective' decision as to whether a 'biological' male can compete with women, and sooner or later, a 'wrong' decision is going to result in a woman getting seriously hurt or worse - as unfair as it might be, sometimes you've simply got to play the cards you're dealt in life.

I am a feminist to a degree , but draw the line at men fighting women.

The bigger question Joe is, if you were approached by Khelif at a gig that your attending, and asked you to go back to her hotel room to commence the night, would you go or not? And why if not?

Not gonna lie, I'm really conflicted on this one. I am well and truly against transsexuals in women's sport, because it's a blatant advantage, and extremely unfair to females born as females, but this is different, yet I'm still unsure. From the things I've read, in looks like she has Swyer syndrome, which is where your born with almost the entire female anatomy, but have a XY(male) chromosome. If it is Swyer syndrome, it's "impossible" to ever go the male puberty, she could even give birth, with an egg donation, and many have carried babies and even given birth. Even cases of twins being born to women with Swyer syndrome. But I'm still uneasy about it. I genuinely feel sorry for her, because she's had absolutely no say in what nature dished up for her, but if it's found she has an unfair advantage, she can't compete as far as I'm concerned. If there's no advantage, and because she's never gone through male puberty, that's a possibility, let her compete. It sad all round tbh.

Great vid. I completely agree with you. It’s definitely a grey area in this very rare case. If it was upto me, She’d have to find something else to do for a living. Definitely can’t have her fighting females with this advantage. Okay it’s not her fault as far as we are aware but this is a brutal sport and fighter safety is paramount. Unfortunately for her this is a very rare case

Simon Jordan is an obnoxious bigmouth and should as such be ignored as much as possible.
@kriswoodward7623Ай бұрын
It is a difficult one. But let’s be honest, the physiology and anatomy of khelif was determined by the last Olympic body to govern boxing as male, something which to my knowledge she didn’t contest. If she has the physical advantages that male puberty brings like greater bone density and strength, bigger lung capacity, faster twitch muscles etc etc, then she shouldn’t be fighting in female boxing. All that needs to happen here is an independent clinician does the tests to determine if she is male or female, it’s not really that difficult and you would think she would be willing to undergo such tests in order that she can move forward with her life without prejudice or scrutiny!!

Tricky situation. Considering she has DSD and fights like a normal woman (seems to have no power as shown in the olympics and fights like an average woman does) id say she should be allowed to compete
@TheSixYardBoxАй бұрын
But like Jordan said, it opens the door for very powerful and strong trans women to fight biological women doesn't it
@joestuttard1495Ай бұрын
Is she trans though? Or is she just one of these biological anomalies? When was their chromosomes released? I find this all a bit weird, and such ignorance in the commenta
@remonimodexd7116Ай бұрын
@@TheSixYardBox only she isn't trans. She has a medical condition which she was born with making her both. She seems to have moe woman characteristics though in terms of strength etc. Iirc she's also been KOD before by a woman
@TheSixYardBoxАй бұрын
@@remonimodexd7116 but like I've already said, allowing her to fight women will open the door for trans people with an xu chromosome (or indeed females with xy chromosomes who DO have the strength of a man) to fight in women's boxing. What is it you're not getting about how dangerous and wrong this is?
