I suspect with the looming city 115 case, Everton, Nottingham and I think now Leicester FFP has set a president that they need to be strictly adhered to. So what you can spend on players will be strictly on revenues and incomes rather than big cash injections from owners. That very much so looks good for spurs as they’ve planned that stadium very very well (timing wise and extra income source wise). Here’s to a good future rivalry my friend!

Over long term - club success is more important. Man City which was in Third tier football in 90s and a fanbase largely restricted to Manchester - now has a Global fanbase rivalling any big club. That will translate into bigger revenue. The Big Five in 1990 were Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton. That is no longer the case.

I don't agree with Spurs being first on the list myself but they have built the new stadium and all the facilities in the stadium that generate revenue like the underground go karting bringing NFL games twice a year plus an art gallery and a few other things that all generate huge revenue for the club they don't give players silly wages like utd do for standard players it's more understandable why they would be in the conversation but Man Utd is a complete joke, their stadium is falling to pieces they are in huge debt their wage structure is a joke they pay way over the odds for players that aren't even that good and I think they have spent more money on players than any other club in the last 10 years other than Chelsea.

Everything is relative, people will point to trophies & say how can you say it is well run, but when on paper they have the 5th or 6th highest turnover depending on the year, expecting them to win is also unrealistic. Only measurement that is fair on measuring sporting success is how well a club, not just spurs, does with their bgt vs the other clubs they compete with.
