I love the way they are casually dismissing Usyk. There are plenty of reasons to believe that Usyk would be a nightmare for Fury. Here’s one… apart from Whyte walking onto that uppercut, Fury relies on combos and accumulation of punches to beat his opponent down. Usyk was wary that one clean heavy shot from Joshua could end it, and for the most part he prevented that from happening, apart from one which he took well. So, how on earth is Fury going to land combos and the number of shots he needs to break him down? Fury obviously will go for the grab and lean, hold and hit tactics, but Usyk is very elusive and slippery and Fury could get punished in the process. Another tough night for Usyk sure, and Fury has great movement and boxing IQ, but Usyk has more. Both good engines, but without a devastating KO power, Inthink it goes the distance and Usyk edges it on points.

I agree Justin. Usyk moves better than Fury, and at a higher pace too. I don't think Fury can fight 12 rounds at the pace AJ and Usyk just did. Tyson isn't the same as he was in 2015, and he still isn't a puncher. He took a long time to get to Wilder last time out, and Wilder has minimal skills and no stamina. Tough night for Fury IMO. And possibly a very dull fight. Usyk just tap tap tapping and moving away all the time.

Well said. Usyk never let Joshua grab hold of him - he was very quick to wriggle away because he knew Joshua's size would sap his energy. Muhamad Ali was doing it from his first title shot with Sonny Liston and he said he took it from the wrestler called Gorgeous George. Ali said that he realised more fans tuned in hoping to see Gorgeous George getting beat up than to see him win and that made the guy a huge draw. I don't know if it says more about those fighters or about the fans who only buy tickets to see the bragger getting beat. I once saw a t.v. commentator saying fans watch car racing for the spectacular crashes, they want to see the drivers almost getting killed. He said the same thing was true for all daredevil acts, people want to see them fail and fall into niagra falls from a tight rope or into the grand canyon on their motorbike. I guess they do it because the public pays to see it.

Saying Fury is ducking Usyk is ignoring the reality of the situation. Usyk beating AJ (twice) isn't as that impressive. Or at the very least, it isn't as impressive as it should have been. Instead of celebrating Usyk, most people are disappointed in AJ. Usyk may be a great champion, but he's not exciting, and he's not going to draw a crowd. Make no mistake, Fury wants all the belts, but he's also aware of his importance to Usyk's legitimacy. Fury is not allowing his role (regardless of the outcome) to be undervalued.
