Germany played like France and England today for the most part back in the day. They had incredible players and knew how to be unit. It worked brilliantly for them as they almost always reached the semis or finals in every tournament. Only with the appointment of Klinsmann things changed towards a more pleasing approach.

Big name, experienced managers probably arent interested in managing international teams anymore. I would look at younger, more inexperienced ex players who in their formative years in management to take over from Southgate instead. Maybe names like Gerrard, Lampard, Gary O'Neil, John Terry, Jonathan Woodgate, Michael Carrick, Rooney could be shortlisted.
