The album they did called Thank You has been ragged mercilessly, but I adore some of those covers White Lines and Perfect Day (which I feel revived that song for the 00s) there is never a DD album that is throwaway, not that Danse Macabre is throwaway at all, it's very cohesive and Danse Macabre is an amazing single that lives in my head since it's release. Reading reviews everyone seems to pick different songs to love or hate, so that is a sign that it's a solid album, Happy Birthday Simon!

Thank you is a fantastic album. It gets played often. Definitely not an album on my shelf collecting dust. With the release of Danse Macabre it's been in my CD player since I purchased it on Friday. Absolutely love every song.

Can't blame him. The interviewer was a complete joke. I could tell what Simon was thinking with his subtle facial expressions. Doing interviews like this must be painful for any artist. Another example is one I saw with Alan Wilder (the former Depeche Mode master of sound). He didn't hide his feelings with the looks he'd give the interviewer.

why the hell didn't they release it about 2 weeks before Halloween... those of us who ordered it from their website won't get it until a week AFTER Halloween. Not the smartest decision. Their Marketing folks should be fired for this and prior blunders.

Well, I imagine it's because about 98% or better of the people who will listen to/purchase this (i.e., consumers) will do so via a streaming service. In which case releasing it on the weekend before Halloween is perfect timing from a marketing (and fun) standpoint. Unless you were planning on, I don't know--decorating your house with the spooky album art? (Disclaimer: I am not a marketer by trade, or an employee of the Duran Duran Organization, as Simon puts it.)

The new Duran Duran album is NOT a "Halloween" album to me. It's an album where Duran decided to pursue their darker, more macabre side with their songs and other songs they love. Also, the interviewer SHOULD'VE asked, " This album is dark, mysterious, macabre and gothic. Perfect for this time of year. After listening to the album, I love it. I haven't heard this kind of sound so fully from you guys since the Arcadia Project, " So Red The Rose". Could the next project you do be a long awaited 2nd Arcadia album from you, Nick and Roger while John and Andy possibly do another rock album in Tribute to Power Station?" Now THAT would've been a phenomenal question. Also, calling Simon a clown at the beginning made me wince, even if it was meant as a joke. The interviewer was a bit too cheeky throughout, trying too hard to be cute and clever.

Just wanted to commend you on your knowledge of Duran Duran s back catalogue!-you truly are a big fan+I imagine for as long as I have been!-when I read your post I thought of "Crime and Passion"from Seven+the Ragged Tiger but now that I think about it so many of their tunes have had that dark+edgy side to them!-the bright+boppy tunes brought us here but the more edgy music is what keeps things interesting!(and I love "Danse Macarbre"-we can give it a spin for every Halloween!☠️👻🎃👽🕷️🕸️🖤
