Not always. I worked for a great boss, great coworkers. Problem was the processes of getting things done and salary. The place I went to has a more streamlined process of work. My previous place was working on making things better as best as they could within the confines of budget, I just didn't have the patience to wait any longer with the salary they were paying me. I would have to say I agree with you that generally management is the #1 problem why employees leave, but that is not 100% always the case.

I'm in Caesars Palace this time. I have a feeling that this video reached Executive level at some point. I'm receiving best costumer service ever from front desk, waiter , security guard and anyone I had to ask a question. 13 years traveling to Vegas. From Luxor to Cosmopolitan. Caesars Palace really surprised me this time that I had to research this video and show all my guests who travel with me. December 2022 - I guess this place has now great leaders.

This is so true. I've had around 9 different bosses in the span of 3 years. Only one of them knew how to make quick decisions and would back us 100% if any of us made mistakes, everyone was happy to work during those short 2 months she was with us.

I'm not a big fan of motivators but this speech/anecdote really got my attention. Spot on, except... Except he mixed Managers with Leaders in his speech. At the Four Seasons, it seems you have Leaders. Leaders influence and Inspires. They "lead". Managers, such as the Ceasar's Palace, focus on policies and processes, They want power and control... Leaders count on interests. Managers rely on rights and power. Don't be a manager. Be a leader. There are 5 central preoccupations at the origin of emotions: Appreciation, Affiliation, Autonomy, Status (recognize) and role (rewarding). Good leadership addresses most of them... and eliminate a lot of problems at the source.

Actually he doesn't. He has great managers who practice effective leadership and poor managers who don't. The managers versus leaders debate is a waste of time and just confuses managers (i.e. 'manages take the credit, leaders share the credi't - this is a poor manager versus an effective manager.) Any time a manager has someone reporting to them they have to practice leadership.

CEOs are great, but how many of them never get off the ground without a COO? Basically all. There is a balance you have to play between leading and managing. Without one the other is basically useless.

Simon Sinek is inspiring indeed. He also built Simon Sinek organization, who provides corporate training. I attended one, and it was an absolute waste of my time. People were leaving during the coffee breaks. Just wanted to make this comment so people are aware when they sign up for something with Simon Sinek name.
