It’s ridiculous that this electric wheelchair amongst other VERY BASIC HEALTH NEEDS is unattainable to most of the US because these hospitals, insurance companies, and big pharma care more about turning a profit than taking care of the people. Some people will always dislike what makes the majority of us smile and feel good. It's mind boggling. There's also people that will never forget what Simone did at the Olympics, because they can't read, and/or refuse to believe in the very real phenomenon of "the twisties." They'll downvote anything having to do with Simone... because she DIDN'T go out and break her neck.

There is no denying her abilities as a gymnast or that she is one of the best in the sport. However many people feel as though her choices during the Olympics were confusing and felt let down. At first it was no people in the stands that was throwing her off...then the twisties....then her Aunt dying a few days before she competed. I have been a competitive gymnastics coach for almost 19 years and I can tell you that anyone truly suffering the twisties doesn't come back to compete on beam. Where focus and balance are paramount. There was definitely something going on but in the end it was her decision. Die hard athletes will tell you that you "never give up" and they are probably the ones giving a thumbs down.
