I loved your presentation, Jinne! I make grape juice but I boil then simmer the grapes in a large pot of filtered water with stevia. I strain out the grapes, then water bath can the juice. Then, I puree the grapes and dehydrate them into fruit rolls. Kids like them better than mushy grapes! It usually is just a tray or two so I do it when I have other things dehydrating as well. I do the same thing with my cranberry juice but I use the cranberries just sun dried on salads etc. @Homestead Corner

What is your ratio of substitute
@pinschrunner2 жыл бұрын
@@conniebrasher4845 I carefully never measure anything when I cook. I shake a little stevia in, stir, then taste. Rinse and repeat. Why? Because I never have the same amount of grapes or cranberries to process. And sometimes, I simply want something sweeter or less sweet. Use your intuition and taste buds. Do what you like. Taste.

If you have a Aldi's close by they have red grapes $1.39lb. I'm in FL so they might be more or less. I had recently found a recipe to make your own molasses. It calls for 11 lbs. Which I am picking up my grapes to try. I'm really amazed at the price difference state to state.

I have never seen grape juice made this way, mom always cooked down the grapes, ran them through her mill, and then she canned them. This would have made her life much easier as she once spilled a pot of grape juice on the floor, burning herself and permanently staining the linoleum purple. Mom had literally scrubbed the floor on her hands and knees for so many years she scrubbed the shine right off so there was no sealed barrier.
