Simple adult coloring tutorial | Glowing paper lanterns with Faber-Castell Polychromos

Coming at you with another short form adult coloring tutorial this week. I've been coloring a lot of paper lanterns, and during the last live stream, chat asked how I get the nice glow blended in with my background. So today, I'm going to show you just that. We'll be working in Rita Berman's 'Mein Reise durch Asien' with Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils.

I learned that the hottest color is the farthest from the center/lightest color at center (something I was doing the opposite) and that's what adds the transparency to the glow. Thank you for this tutorial. ...not only do you answer our comments, but you are so willing to respond to requests! All the while staying in shot - some things that seem to go missing out in Tutorial Land! Now I'm off to go watch your inktense vids from a year ago. So glad I found your channel. Thank you

Typically yes, your brightest/whitest area is going to be closest to your heat or light source. Most of the reference photos I used don’t really have a strong dispersement of glowy light outside of the lanterns. But that’s part of the fun of art is making it look however you want 😃 Thank you for the kind comments as well. I film right in the program I edit with, and I recently switched to a new camera with a pop-out screen…so really no excuse to be out of frame 😄

Thank you! The audio was in and out. It may have been the placement of my lapel mic. Such is life though. I thought of going back and doing a voice over, but it would have looked weird since my body language was intune with talking. So I just left it as it was.
