I have been chanting Hare Krsna for 47 years, and I have never learned to like it as you described here. I sing it and say the mantra in my mind or out load all the time (but not constantly) but, you have inspired me to try this again because I never did the eyes half closed thing. Hare Krsna. I can’t stand sitting still, I can’t relax, and my mind defeats me.

Haribol. Prabhu i was looking for these 3 tips on whole KZbin. i know there are a lot of videos on Howe how to do meditation. still i wanted to hear from a devotee. i went to a Japa Retreat and met a disciple og Srila Prabhupada. both instructed me to concentrate on japa quality. but i never could do that. i think recently another video from a non devote actually, where she was speaking how meditation changed her. then i thought if only meditation has changed her, i have the best form of meditation that i can do, that is mantra meditation. then i started chanting with my eyes closed but this time concentrating on the mantra and also between my eyes. prabhu i cannot describe, my mind were so uncontrolled before, even while chanting what thoughts i was having! of Krishna! but after this meditative chanting, it has improved so much. though it's only for 5 days. prabhu your tips will surely help. prabhu do make such videos on japa meditation, if you have some more tips. there are not many videos like this especially with Hare Krishna mahamantra. I'm glad that Krishna led me to you. hare Krishna Prabhu!

Brother, I watch your videos, you are doing an awesome job guiding people like us. Thank you so much. Just a pointer, meditation happens in Theta state and for highly evolved maybe in the gamma, but definitely NOT in the alpha...

Beautiful! I’m wondering… I do 30 or 40 minutes on an exercise bike daily. I go at a leisurely pace, because of knee injuries. I do japa on the bike; would that fulfill my requirement, or should I do seated meditation as well?

Yes, it's nice to do a fully concentrated sitting-down meditation as well, unless your knee injury makes that uncomfortable.

I have been chanting for 6 months but im horrible at it! Every time i start to chant, i start sneezing or coughing. My mind wanders to trivial things. What should i be thinking about? Krishna, Prabhupad or nothing at all? Love your channel!

Glad you like the channel! Thanks for letting me know. To your question: ideally, you should have your mind and intelligence focussed on Krishna, as Krishna says over and over again in the Bhagavad-gita. But, that won't happen just because we want it to happen. It takes time. It takes practice and detachment, as Krishna says. So, just keep doing it. Doing worry about it being good or bad and NEVER GIVE UP! Keep practicing all the facets of the path, as I explain in the book The 3T Path. It will work. You will be progressing every day you practice.

Hare krisna. Good video. But one thing. Focus on one thing is not meditation. Focus comes by concentration. It is dharana. Meditation is not to calm down process. Calmness is the effect of meditation. Keeping mind without thinking, that is balanced is meditation. In buddhism thoughtlessness is meditation. So balanced mind is meditation. Focal point is initiation step but concentration on focul point always won't help to improve. If u go to unconcious state then u r in good path. This is my understanding. If wrong sorry.

Different paths have different goals. In bhakti, we want the mind absorved in love of God, thinking of His name, form, activities, etc. We don't want thoughtlessness as we understand this is not the natural state of being for the soul, but rather loving service.
