Vocation: being lazy Well-being: not being lazy Occupational: keeping a job that pays well enough to keep me from quitting and let's me get away with enough without getting fired Personal: dealing with the people I am surrounded with (as they deal with me) Community: follow the arbitrary conventions which I am born into Universal: messiah complex Spiritual: search on youtube what my dharma is.... Is there any way I'm not doing my dharma? How can I not do what is my inherent nature to do?
@Caminho3T
@Caminho3T 4 жыл бұрын
For example, by being lazy we become unable, lacking commitment and energy, to do what we should. By eating badly or not sleeping enough, we can easily not properly take care of ourselves (natural dharma). By not searching out more knowledge about our higher nature, we can easily fail to engage in our spiritual dharma. And so on. It's very easy to not be true to yourself, and instead be overwhelmed by bad choices, bad influence, missed opportunities and so on. As in anything in life, we have to really dedicate ourselves, put serious effort, to achieve anything worthwhile in terms of living our dharmas.

Are the categories in any specific order or importance? I.e. What's the logic of the categories?
@Caminho3T
@Caminho3T 4 жыл бұрын
They are all important. But the most important is your spiritual dharma. There is no greater good than becoming enlightened. The natural dharma is the second most important, because if you don't take good care of your body, then life is miserable too.

No. Money follows. By focussing on doing your best, at what you do best, naturally money will follow. If you focus on your strengths, your dharmas, on excellence, you'll work better and naturally earn money.

The very first thing that one should do when conveying/sharing ideas that are not originally ours, and especially belonging to the Vedic period is to give due credit to the scripture you are mentioning the concept from. A lot of effort and time has gone into developing this knowledge by ancient seers. They deserve to be remembered when using their work. Now, there are about 30+ Dharmasutras (aphorisms on Dharma) - Which one have you picked the 7 dharma categories from? And there are at a minimum 9 Dharma Categories that are widely accepted in Dharmashastras - Samanya(Natural), Varna(occupation, interests), Ashrama (Stage of life), Guna (Based on assigned responsibility), Nimitta(behaviour), Aapadi (During calamity), Stri (for Women), Vyashti (Individual) and samashti (Society), Rashtra (Nation) Dharma. Why choose only 7? To maintain the sanctity and originality of such ancient knowledge from the Vedic period, please use the Sanskrit terms as is and then you may use an English word (like you keep saying- "what I would like to call ") that has the closest meaning to it. Also, give credit to the source of knowledge and its roots in all your videos. Just because you studied it, it does not become your own. Thank God the West couldn't find an equivalent word for Yoga in their vocabulary. Otherwise, Yoga would have lost its original identity by now to all these so-called Yoga gurus who have built businesses based around it..

Hi, Adarsh. First of all, I'm constantly referring to the Bhagavad-gita and Krishna in my work. So, stick around and you'll see. Also, these 7 Dharmas are my own inspiration, that's why I'm not citing the source. I'm the source for this way of seeing dharma and helping people live a dharmic life. Why 7? Because of the 7 chakras and the way the 7 in this list cover all aspects of life very nicely.

@@Caminho3T Ah I see... Fair enough. It would help to clarify that at the very beginning of the video that it was your interpretation of Dharma loosely based on Shrimad Bhagavat Gita. I perhaps jumped to conclusions when the beginning of the video started with "providing Better Understanding" of Dharma and I felt the Dharma concept was being "digested". This is happening a lot these days where the core concepts of Sanatana Dharma are being deconstructed, some new funky pop-culture ideas are added to it and presented as an original idea as a business venture. You have indeed given credits to Patanjali and spoke about Yamas and Niyamans with absolutely no distortion in your videos on Patanjali Yogasutras. Much respect for what you are doing and how you are helping people to know their spiritual side and maintaining the originality of the Vedic Dharma. I am going to subscribe and follow your informative videos. Hari Om!

@@adarshgouda847 Thank you kindly. My whole goal is to present Krishna's teachings purely, the original yoga path, in a practical way that's easy to put in practice.
