Joanna, I have to tell you, You ROCK!!!! This is such a nice and easy video.... I NAILED IT! I have pretty thick hair too and I started to curl them in the sections (just like you have shown) and after all the hair was done, about 15 minutes later I thought that the waves were starting to fall out hence used some hair spray (I had not used it right after curling my hair as I am not a big fan of hair spray) but after that, the curls stayed for the whole day and a little bit next day too... For the ladies whose curls are falling out or not curling right, make sure you are taking thinner stripes of hair or your flat iron heat is set just a tad bit higher than normal (when you straighten your hair). I had read about this trick on Pinterest. Good luck! One again, thank you Joanna! So sad we can't post pictures else would have shared a picture, everyone at home/ friends and work noticed them and loved them!!!

Love it. Looks GREAT on you. I have thick blonde hair, similar texture, but I had my stylist cut it in a regular only slighly tapered lob (which is long bob for those who don't know). I had him cut it this way because with any real layers my naturally wavy hair is hard to manage if I want my hair straight and full. I'm gonna try this because I like to change things up. The one thing about layered hair is I could make it wavy without a hot tool.. just a few products. The texturing powder is a must. Thanks for this awesome tutorial. I hope I can do it with no layers. :)

+Shafqat Khan do not use heating tools on them. do not do any action of pulling them, like while combing or making plaits etc. stretching hair makes them thinner & dull. cut them short(as much as you can) & regrow, the shine would appear.

Possibly. Sometimes when the hair is too soft it doesn't hold. Try it on the 2nd or even 3rd day. And lol at your 3am impulse, I very much identify with that

AZSinbad try a light layer of hairspray, medium grip while turning, and turn the straightner slowly. when finished, flip your head over for volume and spray another layer of hairspray :) good luck, have a good day

Giselle Huanqui Philipps It depends on how well your hair holds a curl. I have naturally wavy hair and it holds a curl really well, I usually don't need hair spray. If your hair is naturally straight you may need to set it with a spray. Hope it works out for you!
