He is a genius.. I’ve tried every diet unsuccessfully because no one said eat more protein … as soon as I tried increasing protein it all started working !!! I have always been a small portion eater but still couldn’t lose weight or mainly fat … was not eating enough protein percentage for my calories .. carnivore and keto only work for those who can eat enough protein !!! Same for low fat and low cal

Agree with a lot of what he says but also, the key is that the refined carbs are the most addictive and mess w hormones a lot. So, we are not robots and can just limit this or that. Just a minor setback can spiral down quickly w an addictive processed carb. But he basically wants those gone...so first, we have to detox and ween off these refined carbs and simple sugars that are incredibly addictive and eating them brings on more eating bc the appetite suppression hormones are turned off. All ab the hormones and controlling them. When eating clean, it is a lot easier. Need more discussion on hormones.

The high fat is for the initial transition stages, to become adapted, it's not to be a thing forever, i dropped 70 before i stalled, and it was for lack of protein, but i was still at 120g per day so. Also, 25:27 Too much protein, body can only put so much of it to work in repair/maintain of muscles, the rest gets converted to glucose and stored as fat. Also, look up rabbit starvation diet. Conversion rate is not great but it does spike insulin. Which keeps you from burning fat. (ok, he called it out)

Interesting that he doesn’t speak to other metabolic diseases that are negatively affecting by animal protein. As someone on a cancer journey, many holistic oncologists say that animal protein is detrimental to creating a healthy environment for your body to thrive. Great questions! I cant get enough of dr. Naiman. I will say, the doctor didnt seem to be in a rush, but it was you. And You did interupt the dr but it was with interesting questions. Maybe next time allow him to finish his ideas, jot the question down, ask after he's finished, and allot more time for the interview.

What person on Keto is doing as the host suggested 10% protien? Its more like 10% carbs. Every person I know promoting keto is priority of protien and more healthy fats intake over carbs. Let's do math on 2000 calorie diet 33% protien is 660 calories from protien 165 g of protien 33% from fat is 73 g of fat and 165 g of carbs. 1 serving of Brussel sprouts is 4 g of carbs in order to get to 165 g of carbs would be 40 servings of of Brussel sprouts. Keto sticks with 165 g of protien but flips the g of fat to carbs ratio. 73 g of carbs and 165 g of good fats, for example. Most Keto people suggest under 50 g of carbs per day and the extreme 20g per day. Dr Ben Bikman says anabolic efficiency is greater with animal protien and fat not animal protien and carbs. Dr Ben Bikman also says your brain works more efficient on ketones not glucose in his research at BYU. We also know today that all grains are gmo and NOT ancestral thanks to the federal government food pyramid and the agricultural subsidies. Chicken is not quality especially the vegetable pellet fed chickens. Chickens are natural foragers that like worms grubs insects and seeds. So don't know if you've had Dr Ben Bikman professor and Researcher at BYU on your show but since you have intelligence in your name a professor and Researcher might be a good get.

@@shawnmount2685 what do you mean by, "how is.."
@shawnmount26852 жыл бұрын
@@davidrodgers4760 how is prioritizing protien NOT a form of keto? 180g of protien 70g of "good fat" and 50g of carbs how is that NOT a form of keto? I think people who have already dropped all their weight and have been able to excersise to put on lean muscle can change their carb and fat ratios easier than someone who's priority is to loose more fat and may not have the time (cliche) to work out. Guess what there are people like my self who spend 11 hrs on the road almost every day. I don't have time to do 1hr to 2hr workouts I can't carry a home gym in my 63" sleeper. A 30 min walk is about what I have time for. The content creators and 9-5ers have more opportunities to excerise.
