Great informational video! I use different rigging methods for different conditions and situations. Success can depend on it. Thanks for all that you do you are a very knowledgeable all species angler.

I thinks for watching! I agree every river or even every whole fish is different and it’s good to have a variety of shot pattern options.

Great video! When you use the slip float, with 1 inline weight, and lets say using bead and roe bag presentation, how can I make sure to get that down in their face properly? Ok to add split shot to the leader line?
@ReelMichiganAnglers Жыл бұрын
Either that or you can just adjust the bobber depth. I do both depending on the flow and have had a success both ways.

On the fixed set up , could you just run a leader from inline weight and eliminate the bumper?
@ReelMichiganAnglers Жыл бұрын
Yes I do that often. I only use a bumper in clear water with high visibility.

Do you have a rule of thumb for size float to size in line weight for jigs like that? Hard to know when starting if using enough.

I use the nova floats with the nova in line sinkers. The floats are rated in grams and ounces and the in-line sinkers are labeled in ounces. It makes it real simple you just use the quarter with the quarter the 3/8 with the 3/8 etc.. I also use 1 or 2 gram split shot so I can easily calculate the grams if I switch to a shot line.

@@ReelMichiganAnglers thank you! Guess I could’ve just looked up how much 3/8 oz was in grams also.
@ReelMichiganAnglers Жыл бұрын
@@rideagendarocks that is too much work Lol That is why I like the nova floats they’re labeled both ways, so no matter what split shot you use, you can figure it out easily.

Why are you running a barrel swivel under the nova inline weight that has swivels on it, and you’re not using a swivel below the other weight with swivels on it?
@ReelMichiganAnglers Жыл бұрын
I could go with a double uni knot instead but with a swivel when yo break off it breaks off clean and makes it faster to re tie. Also the split shot sits nicely on the swivel.
@bobhunter8992 Жыл бұрын
@@ReelMichiganAnglers makes no sense to me. So why aren’t you doing that on the slip bobber set up?
@ReelMichiganAnglers Жыл бұрын
@@bobhunter8992 no need for the extra weight with a jig. With a bead or bag you want the extra split shot to get it down low.
@bobhunter8992 Жыл бұрын
@@ReelMichiganAnglers I use inline weights all the time with beads, and I never add a bumper below the weight, I just tie my leader directly to the inline.
@bobhunter8992 Жыл бұрын
@@ReelMichiganAnglers no need for extra knots which creates more breaking points, the fewer knots, the better.
