She mentioned the baker act because shes clearly at her wits end dealing with her mom and its a legitimate way to help someone who cant help them selves. He immediately took a position of being antagonistic for absolutely no reason about the whole thing with her and turned her into an enemy treating her situation like it was a joke and she was a liar. This cop embodies the problems that people have with police officers! He intentionally insulted her, then provoked to her and laughed at her. He continued to do this until she made a stupid decision. At no point that he tried to de-escalate The situation. Which in my opinion improves that it was all done intentionally to provoke her. This is absolutely the wrong way for a police officer to present themselves. Was she okay with getting in his face? No she was not But a officer is also not supposed to provoke somebody into a stupid action!

If she had self control, someone laughing should not elicit this response. She is overreacting and her lack of self control is why she is going to jail. Over and over telling the officer she gave him chances. I beg to differ, it is not up to her to give chances. Law enforcement are in charge when they arrive on the scene. He did make assumptions, but it was not egregious. If she does not like the behavior of the officer and is not in immediate danger, she should just shut her mouth and report it.

💯🎯 It's disgusting the way the cop acted! My husband and I both have mentally ill siblings and having to deal with the police due to their mental illnesses can be frustrating! My husband's brother has the mindset of a 10yr old and is nearly 50 and when he goes nuts and wants to leave to walk the streets the cops will say "you cannot hold him against his will." So he would leave and wander the streets for days and then gets put in jail for loitering! The cops have even said in front of him he doesn't have to take psych medicine if he doesn't want to(severely bipolar). It's hard taking care of someone who is mentally ill just to have the police undermine your care for that person in front of them! But then, when he starts phone harassing them because he is off his rocker they call us and ask us to get him under control! He called the police department over 1200 times in one day holding up their phone lines! Then they arrested him and put him in jail for 3 months when it was them who in fact told him he is an adult he can do whatever he wants! INSANE!!

We are very lucky compared to most who struggle with mentally ill family members! Why so hostile? You really have no idea what happened between us and the police. Do you just wake up and find people to take your hatred and rage out on!? Hmm.. That's not all of it! My husband and I took over a really bad situation! I took over the care of my older sister(who is on the mindset of a 7yr old and severely schizophrenic after our birth father r**** her at 1 yrs old) and after my adoptive father died suddenly and my adoptive mother fell ill and could no longer physically care for my sister(but refused to do the right thing by letting us care for her due to pride)who depends on a nuclear family structure. My husband's brother(mindset of a 10yr old/bipolar/autistic)was pretty much ditched onto us by other family members who turned their back on him! We took on the responsibility because we both grew up with abusive, malignant narcissistic mothers and understand that our siblings are the way they are because of the trauma inflicted on them and the lack of understanding from clueless individuals who have ZERO understanding of what it takes to take care of mentally challenged family members 24/7. We don't get paid for anything! We do it because it's our duty and we choose to do the right thing by EVERYONE involved(including our mothers who didn't have the patience)! Now that the police, TRULY, understand the situation they don't even get involved anymore. I was just venting about how the cop wasn't understanding of how the daughter was feeling dealing with a mentally unstable mother. I don't think it's wrong for me to share my plight! According to the police, initially, they would tell us that they have rights just like you and I. But, once they saw how out of control he was without meds(because when he was told he didn't have to take them he was medicated and calm) they(months later) gave us the help we needed to get his guardianship. The guardianship was the only way to get him to take his meds. How would you handle a family member with oppositional defiance disorder on the mindset of a child? Go ahead... It was a huge commitment for us to get guardianship because that means we are TAKING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF HIS ACTIONS! He called the police because he bought a phone with his daily allowance he saved up(before the guardianship) so the police said that we had no right to take his phone....haha then called later to ask us if we could disconnect it but he had bought a 6 months plan...even though we are law abiding citizens, we decided screw this we are taking it and throwing it away because WE fully understood that someone like him CANNOT have a cell phone! He would get off on calling the police! I'm definitely not a poor, poor little thing LOL but I sure do feel bad for you and the VILE hatred you have inside you!We always tried to follow the law and respect his freedoms like we were told to do...BUT THAT DIDN'T WORK! People who actually give a damn about their struggles so they are not lost in a system that considers them just another number! It's people like me and my husband that take our duty to our families seriously and don't look to the world or government for handouts! It's a pretty obvious possible outcome and she should have been smarter as well. She probably did spit on him by way of just screaming in his face. I didn't hear her hock a loogie at him or anything but I'm sure spit from her yelling got on him and he used that as an excuse... Sad situation for her. Even though I think it was 95% the cop's fault, there was a decision process there that would've kept her out of it. Don't be so stupid around evil.

The cop didn't allow a disrespectful, low-life manipulate the situation and scream in his face. Police these days are expected to walk on eggshells around people and deescalate. Talking to the mother as if she is in a clear frame of mind, made me angry. The daughter is clearly stressed having to deal with her mother. Insert POS cop to escalate and make everything worse for this daughter. (and what happened with her mother?).... He was after someone from the jump, kept escalating and laughing at her. I hope he's been fired. She said it right "Straight garbage"!

The mother is also OBVIOUSLY not in her right frame of mind. She's rambling about human trafficking. She sounds paranoid, the front desk lady called her "crazy," and her own daughter is insisting that she's not in her right frame of mind, and the cop is just like, "Nah, she's just drunk."
