I recently also sold my flat and bought a smaller one as I was downgrading. I sold my flat first, rented a HDB room to stay for 6 months during which I managed to buy my next flat. In terms of preparation to move, I suggest you sort your things according to what you would need to use at your mum's place, what you want to keep for your next home and what you want to throw/give/sell away. If there are stuff you want to bring along to your next home but no place to keep at your mum's flat, you may want to consider keeping in storage but do weigh the cost of storage vs the cost of getting the same stuff as new. I only stored extra clothing and some small appliances but didn't keep my fridge because I didn't know how it will fit into my new home. I moved to my rental about 2 weeks before I needed to hand over the keys. During this time I went back to my old place frequently to further pack stuff for storage and arrange for disposal of items I don't wish to bring to my new home. Generally you would need to hand over an empty flat and not leave anything behind, other than fixtures. Yes, it is tiring and tedious to pack and move and look for a new place but it will be over before you know it 😊.

I’m still considering whether to engage them again, on one hand I like to explore other ID but on the other hand, after 6 years, I must admit the workshop of TMS is really excellent, my carpentry is still in very good condition even those in the toilet where there is constant contact with water. Plus they delivered on time before schedule previously. So I might use their service again. 🤔
