I purchased a Milwaukee M18 grinder with paddle switch a month ago and decided to make my first french cleat holder for it. Yours was one of the first videos I watched on how to do it. Being a Tool and DieMaker with 54 years of experience, I'm used to over designing and quite adept at making a mountain out of a mole hill, so I moved on to other KZbin videos that suited my style of building. After spending the last month totally frustrated with the hangers everybody else were building I came back to your video tonight and in the space of about 20 minutes built yours, hung my grinder on it, and learned a valuable lesson. It works PERFECTLY, is stable, trustworthy, and the materials used were free from scraps I had laying around. The only change I made was to accommodate the thickness of my grinder shield. Subscribed, and looking forward to your ideas for other things!

Welcome aboard, and great story! Very glad you like our design enough to build it. We try to make things simple because they are easier to build and maintain. I spent 20 years in software development and definitely identify with the desire to build complex things, but I've found simple often works better and requires less future maintenance. We'll keep building stuff and hopefully you will find something else that will work for you!

I like simple! Easier to make and less ongoing maintenance, which both appeal to my lazy side.

This is the reason I like French Cleats. Storage solutions are easy to make and easily moved to the area you want them.

Exactly! We can reconfigure the shop any time we want, or for any project. Love the flexibility!

A place for the spanners to remove the grinding wheels probably would have been a good idea to include in the build. I'm always misplacing mine. Cheers mate from Australia.

Good tip, and you are absolutely correct! I ended up adding a magnet to hold that after I made the video. It fit perfectly on the upper left part of the holder. Can't believe I forgot to do that in the original build!

This video was my introduction to your channel, and I’ve since watched them all. Y’all are awesome, and a real inspiration. (And I did make the angle grinder holder, among others.) May the Force be with you.

Awesome! Thank you! I hope the grinder holder works for you like it has for us! We just used that grinder to build two animal leg stools and having all of the grinder wheels close at hand was super nice. And thank you for noting the importance of Star Wars references. This means we can be friends!

Glad you like it! It was easy to make but it got the grinder off the bench and onto the wall!

What face mask are you using for sanding? It looks very small. I want one!
@AtomicDairy2 жыл бұрын
It's an Elipse P100 Dust Mask and it absolutely rocks. Small but extremely effective, and comfortable to wear.
