Kenny, just to tell you, "Simple Ken" is arguably THE BEST LONG RECORDING OF SOMEONE TALKING, on this planet, and you know what, best things require long breaks. No Stress, don't blame yourself, it's all perfectly perfect. Just as I finish this Long Comment of me Commenting, wanted to let you know that all of us are excited for those next Comedian Cameos. Much Love :) Vidhan here.

As a gen z to hear I'm responsible, compassionate, caring from a complete stranger feels really nice. Especially when we are always looked down in the name of "seniority" and not taken seriously. Its sort a like a validation

I was having a depressive episode and just wanted to listen to someone talk about "something else". This really calmed me down. I got so many new perspectives and it somehow really helped. I literally just stumbled upon this gem and it turned out to be one of the most relevant thing I have heard in a long time. Really enjoyed listening to this. Thank you. Big Hugs!

Hey kenny! Today I wanted to narrate a story about when I met you, and then ask a question about it as well. We were at the Mumbai airport, and I saw you at the check in counter. It was afternoons time and not a lot of youngsters were around. I was staring right at you thinking if I should come up and say hi or would it be too annoying. You did see me staring and I felt so awkward. Then I saw you walk up the escalator. I quickly caught up and came behind you and just said, Kenny I love you. You turned and laughed and then after we got off the escalator we had a small chat and clicked a photo. It was super sweet and fun to me and it’s one of my really fun little memories. Which brings me to my question, how often do you get annoyed with fans coming up when you arnt in the mood and how do you deal with it. And has there been any embarrassing times that you were rude to somebody and regretted it later. Lots of love

Hi Kenny! Happy to see a public figure give out realistic opinions than framing idealistic expectations in viewers which may or may not happen. I'm a practicing Licensed Clinical Psychologist since the past 5 years now, and wanted to shed some light regarding how to choose the right therapist and who can call themselves a "Psychologist" in India: 1. Before approaching a therapist, know what you're looking to be helped with. For daily life problems, a Counselling Psychologist would do. But for anything on the lines of Clinical Depression, Anxiety, OCD etc. can only be worked upon with the expertise of a Clinical Psychologist. 2. Once you've understood the difference, always go through the credentials of the therapist, have a look at the work they've put in and lastly make a list of your expectations out of someone you'd be sharing your most insecure and vulnerable self with. Based on these checks, no one therapist will fit all. Get on a consultation call or go have 2-3 therapists on trial to see who fits your boat the best. 3. The most important part, who can call themselves a "Psychologist". Please don't confuse self-proclaimed life coaches or motivational speakers for therapists. The minimum qualification to not just call yourself but also practice as a therapist is a MA in the specific field of Psychology, just a BA won't do. The same follows suit for a Clinical Psychologist, with the only difference, they should hold a 'license number from RCI" to even call themselves a Clinical Psychologist, only a MA in Clinical Psychology is not enough. Please make an informed choice as it's a matter of your life more than money. Just like you wouldn't ignore your physical heath to a point of no recovery, please save up to invest in mental health too. Also, the get the 'best" therapist, please don't shy away from shelling out the fees which is worth the time and effort they put into helping you navigate your life. Hope this helps! Love & light, Mrinalini T. Nathaniel Founder: Mannvartan

Thank you for answerimg my question Kenny. It was the most straightforward and practical advice I have got regarding this issue. I am already working on being independent and eventually move out. I do fulfill my duties towards some family memberd without loving them. I haven't always been lucky when it comes to friends, but I have a few a value a lot and vice versa. Thanks again.
@akanshagoel7092 жыл бұрын
Hi Ifrah, hope you are doing well. I wanted to write to you regarding your question. You asked about bullying and harrassment and that does not come from family. Whoever these people are, you guys are destined to have mutual ancestoral history, just that. Only blood connection and no emotional ties. They are not entitled to your time or your attention. You have to feel empowered enough to be able to not give them what they are not entitled to. And that comes with money/financial independence and education. You need not be under their financial or any other kind of burden. Money and awareness/education will give you power to be able to avoid them or tell them what they are doing is not unacceptable. Once you have these, you are sorted. You will not take any shit from anyone yourself. If any conventional ways of society forces you to stay with them and they are going out of hand, it is only your mental strength that can give you peace - either by speaking back or ignoring. You have to have a strong heart to be able to not get affected by them or decide to move out of your house.

Hi Kenny, Love your work! I have a couple of questions for you. 1. As someone in their late 20s, I get a lot of these pressurizing questions like When are you getting married, When are you settling down etc. I haven't found my person yet and I want to wait a while before thinking of other options. Have you faced such pressure from family or friends (as you are also in that age range) and if so, how do you deal with it? 2. What is the best advice you can give to people in their 20s? Is it really the end of the good life once we become 30? All movies and music market the 20s as this golden period of life after which its all downhill. Is that true? And finally, I'm sure you, like the rest of us, have been in love and whatnot. What is the greatest lesson you have learned about love and relationships? What do you look for in a relationship now as opposed to 10 years ago? I enjoy the occasional bout of introspection and I like to pick people's brains, so thought I'd ask. Totally cool if you want to skip any haha. Keep doing great work man. Appreciate it. #simpleken

Hey Kenny! You are super sweet in answering even the toughest topics like pregnancy, miscarriages and post partum depression and all. I am a mum and surrounded by cousins who are mums. So here is my two cents: pregnancy is a personal decision of a woman and a man. A woman should never be compelled or feel compelled to have a baby unless absolutely ready. Its a massive responsibility to bring up a life. Financial burden, work all else is secondary. Just ensuring that you take care of baby, mothers health, sleepless nights, baby's health, nutrition, growth milestones, mothers hormonal issues etc itself is a overwhelming experience. This aspect itself needs a huge massive support from family members and husband. Today we lack that. Mostly because our mums were working and dependant on their mums to look after their kids. So most working mums of yesteryear are clueless. So it's a big loss for us un a way. So we need to get more educated about it. However practical is another world and theory can't suffice. Miscarriages, no clue, but sounds really difficult. Post partum depression is real. Very real. Particularly when you are shedding blood, not sleeping, breaking your back and taking care of baby, it can have a big impact on the mind and body and everything related. Can last for a year. Basically there needs to be a big support system around a mum and a baby, which we lack in our modern society. A woman needs to be in a good space, physically and mentally to become a mother.

Hey Kenny! Just a few days back, I was wondering what I'd listen to on my walks, once I finished all the episodes of Simple Ken. But, then, you released a new episode, and I was so glad! These long recordings helped me put some things into perspective, especially at times when I was frustrated that no one could get me. It felt like a conversation with one of my friends. I took psychology as an elective in college, and now whenever I see someone reacting in any way to an issue, I've started going, "This person has probably been treated like this, so they're reacting like that" or "It's childhood trauma". I'm an engineer, and not a professional psychologist as I took that subject for only one semester. But ever since my friends and I started introspecting a lot, I began trying to analyze and understand why people behave the way they do, which just raises thoughts like that sometimes. When I tried to psychologically analyze my family's behavior everywhere after that, it released a whole new can of worms, because damn, Indian parents have issues! I know I shouldn't have done it XD. Now, I feel like almost everyone needs therapy, if we're going by the standards in the more developed countries. What do you think about this? Btw, Thank you so much for the not-therapy-but-still-therapeutic-recordings! I heartily wish you the best for the future!! #simpleken

@kenny, the simple Ken videos feel so calming and relaxing to watch cause I feel it such a ‘chai pe charcha’ type of conversation. I have been watching your content since I was around 15/16 and now I’ll turn 24 in another 6 months. And through all of this, my thoughts and views about things are changing and evolving. So the way I look at things has changed so much and I don’t think I’d be able to relate to this 6 years ago but now I do understand some of where your views come from. And it’s crazy how much a person evolves every year and with every experience. I have watched your stand up, live shows as well as simpleken and this community itself feels so different. It feels so homely so unique (can’t find the right words tbh) but if I’d to come up with something similar I’d say, listening to simple ken everytime you upload a video would be like listening to your grandma telling you tales as a kid. Ofc you won’t relate to everything but it makes you homesick for the person for whom you probably would be a username and a tiny display picture. I have lost my train of thought but I hope I managed to explain even a bit of what this long recording of you does for us. It’s calming and it seems like a constant in this whole *adulthood sucks but you are going to love it* scheme of life

Waiting for the next episode of Simple Ken is too hard, especially when it takes longer gaps and the time period between the announcement of next episode and finding the time to watch it (especially if it is on working days, yes it is usually on Mondays) is really a test of patience (The struggle to watch it by parts in the day in between the work schedule and then watch it fully at night peacefully at a strech and the following rewatching season.. !! Whoa!! ) But.. Finally when you watch it... It always feels "Wow! What an episode! It is worth watching!!! Thank you Kenny for doing this' Long Recording of You Taking '. Also thanking for being honest (this time it is more loud when you declared like" No l am not your friend it is not the reality "" l won't say follow your passion ") ... thanks for maintaining the simplicity. Could not stope mentioning how beautiful your language is!! Your choice of words are so refinded. Look forward to seeing more episodes. God bless!

Dear Kenny, it's nice to see you back after four months. I was wondering if I could give you a little something to try out. Maybe, as a social experiment, you could try not being chirpy for the next Simple Ken long recording. Personally, I sometimes don't have the emotional energy to put on a persona to make content watchable. And I'm a journalist so I got to push myself to the brink fairly often. Maybe, somewhere along the line, we'll also discover what clicks with the audience and what doesn't. Just as a social experiment within this community. Thanks for reading!

Hi Kenny, Just wanted to let you know that one can't become a therapist with just an undergrad degree. One needs to have a undergrad + master's degree to become a Counselling Psychologist and a undergrad + master's + mphil (and a Rehabilitation Council of India License) to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in India. Me being a psychology student myself, I feel people sometimes get confused regarding the qualifications and end up consulting the wrong people which almost always worsens the situation. Love how you always suggest people to seek therapy and don't go on answering mental health related questions yourself. Love love love the long recording of you talking, it's a stress-buster and I'm super grateful to you for the effort you put in for making these videos. Love & Respect, always ❤️

Hello Kenny, I have been following you for very long now. I loved this episode of Simple Ken, it so beautiful and the best part is you saying the honest stuff without worrying about whether that is what is expected or not. I just like the fact that you are so straightforward in your answers. I dont believe when people say you should be happy in life, thats such a stupid thing to say. One just cant be happy even if you dont feel it. You should be aware of what emotions you are feeling and go through them. You saying that life is to feel all the emotions is so true and that is such a brave statement to make. I'm glad you dont sugarcoat your answers. Congrats for this wonderful episode.

#simpleken Never be feel bad for taking a break Kenny ✨ You need it and deserve it and we all should give it 🤗 *This is for the people who would be reading this and especially for the people pressuring Kenny to do Simple Ken* 👇👇👇 Even though we all are eager in looking forward for Simple Ken, we all should understand that Kenny is a Human too.... He too can get tired of Things, he too can get stressed out and he too NEEDS A BREAK! The time doesn't matter, it is the Recovery Process which matters... Some people can just recover from being stressed within hours while Some people will take years to cope with it. (Personal Experience talking here😁) He knows we want Simple Ken but also we should understand him that He's doing all of these for us and not only for himself... Remember the second episode with Kanan?! He said "I'm doing things mostly for the people and the audience". He's doing everything for us but we are just stressing him out more. He's such a Gem and a Hard working Person. My head hurts when I think of losing my sleep for others for 10 Whole Years! I said that Next Year is too much of time but if the next episode comes out Next Year, I won't be angry on him... Instead, I'll just watch the episode 😂 Because we all should understand that the happy Kenny Sebastian in the video is not the only Kenny Sebastian.... He too have problems. And we shouldn't be increasing more problems and putting more pressure on him by simply asking to do the next episode regularly. Instead we should understand and support him if he's going through some bad phase of life❤️ Just remember Ken 😊 We love you for who you are 😁 Love you and Take Care ✨ #simpleken

Has it really been six months since the last episode? I remember the last one like it was yesterday. Time is weird in the pandemic years.

Hi Kenny, one question. Stick till the end. First of all, big fan since 5 years, smth. I'm a medical student in my 2nd year in Europe. Came here in Dec 2020. I totally agree with you on "even dream jobs" have things you don't like. Similar to mine, being a doctor has been my dream since I was 8. And I soon realised this bitter truth of life. If any one Asks me for advice, I tell that "DO ANYTHING but mainly for the sake of doing it" if it pays you well, good for you but if it doesn't, (sadly for many ppl) look out for a source of income and pursue your "passion" like a Weekend hustle, don't leave main job, until you can scale it up. My question is (quite existential) : is it really fair that we mind (sorta complaining) about all these problems (coming from a place of privilege) when there's an entire city of children sleeping empty stomach??
