I love this way of having a lined bag. I hate loose linings!

I made that size for by nieces, and they loved them. Even the youngest one carries her all the time. Fits their change of clothes, books, etc. Beautiful job, and I learned some new techniques. Thank you.

Hi Sheri. Thanks for this tutorial. Love the material you've chosen. I've made a few bags in the past... but mine were quite a bit bigger... with bating and quilted.. for a few groceries. Thanks for showing how to make a French seam. I never seem to remember to use picking shears... I will try and make a few bags like this just to use as a bag. Never seem to find any plastic bags. Have a great rest of the week. Hugs

I feel like I say this a lot - but those panels are really cute! I have been making these style bags as well - they make great "gift boxes" for quilts. I picked up some kaffe FQ and got doubles - it makes a striking reusable shopping style bag like this. I relate 100% to the durability like you suggested. I've been backing my outer fabric with a layer of very thin batting (its a great way to use cutoffs) and decovile lite behind that - the decovile makes the cotton almost canvas weight and someone wouldn't need the batting (I just like the texture). Maybe my next one I will do interfacing like yours! I think the great thing about patterns like this is once you make one - its not bad to modify it to work with cuts you have - like your panels or my fat quarters with very little leftover - its a good stashbuster for FQ :)

I feel as you lined the bag a french seam was totally unnecessary as there were no raw edges, love the way you finished the bottom corners.❤
