My "step"father Richard was the greatest man I've ever known. He loved my mom and her 3 crazy kids as his own for years without anything in return until we were old enough to realize how lucky we were to have such a great man in our lives. He taught us to love Jesus, be decent people, work hard, and take care of each other. He had a band and also taught us so much about music. After 30 years of being married to my mom, he passed away in 2020. My siblings and our spouses wrote his eulogy and made sure this song, Simple Man, was the 1st heard by everyone in the church who attended. He was the greatest man. I am so fortunate to have had 30 years of his time on earth being my dad.

My son was 21 when he passed away. His two sisters picked their songs to be played and this was the song I chose to play at his funeral. It couldn't have been any more perfect. There were probably 250 people that attended and there wasn't a dry eye in the chapel on that day. Many thanks to Lynard Skynyrd for a song that has so much meaning to me. You Rock!! I'm so sorry I can't ever imagine losing a child I've lost my parents I have lost a brother and sister at very young ages and my husband a short three years ago but to lose a child I just can't imagine. I've always wondered if it was punishment from God until I was directed to James 1:13 which reads this way. When under trial let no one say I am being tried by God for with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone. That sure gets you to thinking why do we suffer. And then after I read this other scripture it really made me start doing some digging that's Revelation 12:12 on this account be glad you heavens and you who reside in them woe for the Earth and for the sea because the devil has come down to you having great anger knowing that he has a short period of time. Think about that for a moment. For more information go to jw.org

In the name of Jesus Christ I curse that tumor or tumors in your body Donna Richmond, I curse every spirit of cancer in your body and commanded it to die now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the bible says that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, well in the name of Jesus I destroy the works of the devil in your life, I destroy every plan the enemy has against you. I speak life, blessings, restoration, complete healing over your spirit, your soul and your body in the name of Jesus and I speak salvation over you and your house, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ I declare and decreed this, amen. Pray this prayer all the time and it will go away, this is spiritual warfare, let the doctors do their job, you do yours and I can guarentee it, it will go away, ask the Lord about this, ask for wisdom and understanding on this. Ask the Lord for the root of the oroblem, how did this cancer gain entrance into yiur body? Ask, ask, ask, thre is a Living God and HE is good, if there was no God, then Good and evil would not exist. Have a bless day and I will help you prsy, from a distance, but mighty effective, hallelujah for the honor and glory of Jesus.

One day as I was sitting outside smoking a cig he sat with me and we talked about life. This was his favorite song. He passed in a horrible accident as he was driving his semi in snowy weather up in the Texas panhandle. To this day, I play this song at least twice 8n his memory. Cheers brotha, this one's for you. My other papaw quit smoking about 15 years ago, but he has bad COPD and got out of breath just from talking before being put on oxygen a couple months ago. @@seanbishop9273 Even if it was not bad for your health, and it is extremely bad for your health, it smells really really bad. You as the smoker are the absolute last one to know how bad you smell. Even now, you're thinking, "I don't smell bad." Yep, you do. It's also a grand waste of money. Remember that longevity is one thing, but quality of life is quite another. It's not just drugs being dangerous but the Chinese flooding the country with Fentanyl to make them even deadlier without a single repercussion and that's why they do it they know they can kill a million of our citizens this way with little no consequences whereas using a gun to kill even one could trigger a war.

All my dad has ever told me was to be what I wanted and play life safely, and more than anything he wanted me to avoid being like him, he started drugs and alcohol at a young age and has been in and out of jail all his life, he ran from the cops 2 months ago, and got found a week ago, he is now going to serve between 15 to 25 years, I'm 16, this song has more power than I can possibly describe, my mom's favorite, and mine too, I stumbled upon it today trying to find more classic rock songs to learn on my guitar and it hits me every time. My mom just passed on Monday, November 8th, 2021 at the age of 56 unexpectedly. I've always felt that this song was one that speaks to me from her. She never introduced me to this band however I felt that this song in specific was my mom saying everything to me. My mom was my everything, my best friend, my rock, my support system. I never thought I would be faced with something like this, especially so soon. I'm 26 and to think I have to go through the next 50 to 60 years without her is going to be difficult. I love you mom. You will live forever.

Me and my brother knew this older man in Alabama that had a horse farm and we went to visit him. We called over about 10 of those horses and afterwards all three of us were sitting on this rock wall right outside the farm just watching the horses, it was probably 7 o'clock just as sun is going down, but this fourth guy just drove up because he knew the guy and we all were just sitting on that rock wall and Simple Man started playing and we just sat there and listened. That was a great moment in my life. Thanks Skynyrd

What that means though, is that time will not stop, the healing process is immense, we just need to keep going. Your son, my grandpa, both are in a place where they can live... live better than they ever have. Hold those memories with you, and cherish them. And years from now, you'll be able to remember your son in tears of joy, for his life, rather than remorse. I wish you the bests of luck, and enjoy the new year. My mom passed away on January 11th, 2017. About a month later, I was building my first work bench (she was a really handy woman) and I broke down crying that I wished she could be there to see my creation and to tell me she was proud. I was listening to Pandora and had been listening to heavy rock all night, nothing soothing. After I broke down, cried and talked to mom, this song came next on the playlist. I immediately stopped what I was doing with the work bench and just cried and enjoyed the moment with my mom. I knew she was looking down from up above and couldn’t talk to me directly, so she had to show her grieving son that she was still with him in spirit. I get married in 2 days on 6-12-21 and this is the song I’m dancing too with my future mother-in-law. I love and miss you mom!!

I was watching Hawaii Five O, and they played this song. It touched me so much, I Googled it. And then listened to the whole song. It brought tears to my eyes, but I "listened" to it again, and again. I'm going to make sure, that when God call's me home. When they close my casket, and carry me out. "THIS," IS THE SONG THEY PLAY. Not that it matters, "or", maybe it does. I am a 60 year old Black Man, but "THIS" song, made me cry once I googled it, and listened to the whole song. It's "AMAZING", what certain songs can do for you. No matter the race, color, creed, or religion. Extremely, a "POWERFUL" song. I had three sisters, that has gone above the clouds. My Father, Mother, and a Daughter. My Mother had three daughters, and "one" son,,,,, "Me"!!! I am the last of her Legacy, 😢😢😢. But "this" song, will play over me

Yes this song resonates with many!! It touches on life but gives you spiritual insight to make it a truly unique and beautiful song! It’s just a song but it’s a metaphor for life. Funny I was just thinking about the group and I believe they are all dead except lead guitarist?? Thanks for your testimony.

I bought my mom 1 album/cassette tape/cd in her life and it was the one containing this song. I lost her this year on March 17th. They say losing people you love comes easier as time passes. Yet, here I am watching a song with the perfect video accompanying it. I'm sure things will improve over the years but I count my blessings that this exists when I have to fight through days like today. From the looks of these comments, I am not alone. I miss you mom.

So much music I listened to as a kid hits different now - took til my 20s for sure. Largely because I had *SEVERE* ADHD as a child, and pretty much all songs were misunderstood. I was sort of in a permanent acid trip as a kid. I literally didn’t understand a single story line from any movie, even simple cartoons. It was all just colors, noises and the vivid over-perception of micro, imagined storylines. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed going back and re-watching/re-listening to all the movies and songs I watched during childhood. It’s an incredibly euphoric, borerline psychedelic experience, especially rewatching old disney movies. It’s hard to explain - it’s almost like remembering an old dream that’s been forgotten since your childhood. And all the memories and emotions you felt at that precise moment suddenly rush back. Like, the most beautiful imagery and smells, and vibes overtake me. It’s an incredible experience. No words can explain.

I have VERY DIFFICULT DAYS, just like everyone does. And, I have to try to find a reason to even keep going some days. TODAY, YOUR COMMENT WAS THE REASON!! I said nothing about "GOD"... That was you and plz EVERYONE THAT READS THIS AND DOES KNOW AND BELIEVE IN GOD AND JESUS CHRIST, WOULD YOU ALL PRAY FOR THIS PERSONS SOUL BECAUSE What happens to our SOULS when we are called HOME IS REALLY WHAT MATTERS. FYI , MY SOUL IS WELL WITH MY SON SITTING OR STANDING IN FRONT OF GOD'S THRONE.... I JUST MISS HIS HUGS AND THE VERY BRIGHT LIGHT THAT BEAMED FROM HIM .... IN A SHORT TIME HE TOUCHED SOOO MANY OTHER SOULS AND HE LEFT THIS PLACE WITH A LEGACY. I want that for you as well. I apologize for upsetting you and NOTHING ELSE.
