Jim Kerr is one of the most underrated front men all time. Now 50 years old, I adore music, I loved them in the 80's (when I was a teenager) but it is only now I am really appreciating their truly magnificent and really well produced music (New Gold Dream is just beautiful) but I now find it mind boggling how I never quite appreciated how captivating Jim Kerr is a a performer. That's something you are just born with, its not something you can teach and he just 'has it'. Their music is now ageing beautifully as good music does.

THIS is literally my favorite song ever! When they played in Rochester NY in '86, I got my way to the front of the stage. When this song started, I was so freaking excited. That’s IT. I still love this, 35!years later. It’s elevating and breathtaking and majestic. ECSTATIC majesty! It’s like British Isles Kings and Queens (no blondes!!!!) and the crystal lakes and droplets of rain being prizmed by the sun. No rainbows. Just the sun and the rain turning to crystal beading (Excalibur!) and the green of the land and dark sky.

I've got the feeling that Simple Minds were really connected with something unreachable and undefinable through combative and poetic creations. They had a cast iron belief in the power of love crossing great distances of this world to reach a mysterious aim. Markedly, the dynamic of their songs could evoke a titanic feeling which always helps the character to overcome impassable places in his head to open the fabulous visions of a world full of promises and discoveries. And yes run until we come, until we be my love... When the time comes, I hope your flame will travel to me !
